The properties of each substance in the mixtures do not change. Their size,
shape, color remains the same even after mixing.
Solid materials can be mixed/combined with liquid materials. Some solid
materials can be completely dissolved in the liquid materials, but others do not.
Liquid materials can be mixed with other liquid materials. While some liquid
materials can be completely mixed with the other liquids while some do not. Two
liquids that do not mix form two layers like what you see with oil and water.

Activity 3 – Color Me
Directions: Color the circle blue if the mixture can be mixed completely and red if it
is not.

Activity 4 –Perform and Sketch
Direction: Mix the pair of mixtures in each number then identify whether it is a
heterogeneous or homogeneous mixture. Draw the resulting mixture in the third
column.
* Needs parental supervision
Direction: Answer the following. Write your answers on the space provided.

Activity 5: Let me Explain
1-5(Answers may vary)
6. There are some solid materials that can be dissolved completely while others do
not or partially dissolved.
7. There are some solid materials that can be dissolved completely while others do
not or partially dissolved.
8. There are some solid materials that can be dissolved completely while others do
not or partially dissolved.
9. There are some liquid materials that can be dissolved completely while others do
not or partially dissolved.
10. There is no change in the property of the materials because there is no formation
of new material. Their physical properties do not change.
