Free Blue Thistle Flowers Crochet Pattern

Blue Thistle flowers are one of the coolest looking flowers in the world. They’re spikey
and vibrant, and they add a wildness to otherwise dainty floral arrangements.

In this crochet blue thistle recreation, the sepal is made with a sea-foam green colour
(Sagebrush) and then transitions into the forest green (Spearmint) leaves to mimic the
natural flowers.

This Blue Thistle crochet pattern is part TWO of a 4-part (tiny) recreation of my wedding
bouquet. Here’s where you can find the rest of the components of the crochet bouquet:

If you would like to make everything from the crochet bouquet and want to know what
materials you will need to create the entire thing, head over to the introduction page!

If you would like to show your support, please consider purchasing the printer-friendly
PDF pattern from the shop! All four patterns will be in the same file. Your support allows
me to keep creating new patterns to share with you guys and I appreciate it so SO much!

*Please note that the patterns are worked in continuous rounds unless otherwise stated.

Assembly:

Thread the floral wire from the

thistle flower through the centre of
the sepal.

Dab some glue along the wire and

wrap the thread from the sepal
around the wire tightly. Make sure
that 1 inch of the wire is covered.

Pinch the wire at the bend with a

pair of pliers. Push the leaf motif up
towards the bend fully.

9/12
Dab a little bit of glue onto the tip of each of the picots. Before the glue fully dries,
use a pair of pliers to pinch the picots to make them nice and pointy.

10/12
Line the exposed wire from the
thistle flower to the leaf wire (the
one that is not attached to the
thread ball). Put some glue onto the
wires about ½ inch from the
covered parts. Wrap the thread
from the leaf around all the wires
tightly.

Repeat with the other leaf. Continue

gluing and wrapping the thread
around the wire until you get to the
end.

You have just finished your Blue Thistle

Flower! Set this aside and work on the
rest of your bouquet.
