Introduction
OVERVIEW:
In response to the worldwide closing of schools, educational institutions adopted distance learning
to ensure that students continued to receive an education while the world battled COVID-19.
Distance learning, which was frequently accomplished through the use of various online resources,
was quickly implemented at all academic levels with an uncertain duration. Despite the fact that
many higher education institutions were already familiar with online teaching platforms, most
teachers had little to no knowledge of how to transition from in-person teaching to distance
learning. Teachers, students, and their parents were all unprepared for the shift to online learning.
The parents of our students. There is currently insufficient information available to fully understand
the exact effects that distance learning, which lasted more than a year for most students around the
world, had on students. Previous research has found that academic performance of children in the
United States, for example, has significantly declined during the pandemic, and that individuals with
developmental skills have likely stalled their progression to improved skills.
RATIONALE (TOPIC&PURPOSE):
Factors that affect the struggles of Senior High School Students in Online Class Learning. The
Purpose of this study is that Online Learning has become more and more common, adapting to work
hours, or just having freedom to study from anywhere learning. With no face-to-face classes, Online
learning provided a safe and alternative learning.
RESEARCH PROBLEMS:
1.)How can students corporately manage to attend online classes?
2.) What capabilities do you assume students can improve more in Online Learning?
3.) How can students be attentive and focused in Online Learning?
RESEARCH DESIGN:
Quantitative (“quant”) research is used to quantify the problem by way of generating numerical data
that can be transformed into usable statistics. It is used to quantify attitudes, opinions, behaviors,
and other defined variables, and generalize results from a larger sample population. Quantitative
research uses measurable data to formulate facts and uncover patterns in research and Descriptive
research is used to describe characteristics of a population or phenomenon being studied. It does
not answer questions about how/when/why the characteristics occurred. Rather it addresses the
"what" question.
RESEARCH LOCALE:
This study will be conducted at the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR), it was established in
1954 by former Supreme Court Judge Felix Angelo Bautista. The Philippine College of Criminology
(PCCR) has a 59.42% passing rate in passed Criminology Licensure Examinations (CLE) with a total
number of 164 which passed, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) which posted the
results of the Criminology Licensure Examination. The campus is located at 641 Sales St. Quiapo ,
Manila, 1001 Metro Manila. PHILIPINE COLLEGE OF CRIMINOLOGY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL Strand
offer is, ACCOUNTANCY, BUSINESS, AND MANAGEMENT STRAND (ABM) HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL
SCIENCES STRAND (HUMSS) SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATHEMATICS STRAND
(STEM) GENERAL ACADEMIC STRAND (GA)
RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS:
The researchers target participants are 150 PCCR Senior High Students (HUMSS) , 50 Grade 11
Senior High Students and 100 grade 12 Senior High Students.
RESEARCH SAMPLING:
Generally, sampling allows researchers to obtain enough data to answer the research questions
without having to query the entire population - saving time and money. However, sampling differs
depending on whether the study is quantitative or qualitative.
RESEARCH INSTRUMENTS:
Because study cannot perform eye to eye steps merely to give them our survey papers in this
pandemic, using a survey form like Google form will be more convenient and accessible. This is why
Google form is the most dependable option to do the task.
