    Patient Journey with Hexa Health

    The cogent journey of a patient starts with a consultation by our medical expertise. Based on the
    case history and personalized requirements of a patient, our care coordinators select the right
    hospital/Surgeon. Then we provide the option of doctor consultation along with acknowledging the
    benefits of medical insurance which would help a patient financially.

    If the patient proceeds for the service after doctor consultation, Hexa Health helps the patient to
    understand the insurance coverage. On the other hand, our team ensures with the hospital about

    DIABETES MELLITUS
    Diabetes Mellitus is a type of disorder of carbohydrate metabolism. This metabolism is characterized
    by disability of the body to produce or respond to insulin and hence sustain adequate levels of
    glucose (sugar) in the blood. It is a condition when body become incapable of utilizing glucose
    naturally. Glucose is essential source of energy for the body cells.

    Three types of Diabetes Mellitus:

    Type 1 Diabetes - A chronic condition in which the Pancreas little or no insulin.

    Type 2 Diabetes - A chronic condition that affects the way the body processes blood sugar i.e
    Glucose.

    Gestational diabetes – A form of high blood sugar affecting Pregnant women.

     Intermittent increase in thirst


     Continuous urination
     Significant weight loss.
     Substantial presence of ketones in the urine (ketones are a by-product of the breakdown of
    muscle and fat that happens when there's not enough available insulin)
     Increased Fatigue

    Treatment Plan

    People with diabetes are required to take their own responsibility for their day-to-day care. The care
    can be screening blood glucose levels, adequate physical activities, proper oral medications etc.
    Doctors also advices for insulin therapy if that becomes essential for the patients. Insulin is a
    naturally-occurring hormone secreted by the pancreas and used by the cells of the body to remove
    and use glucose from the blood. People with diabetes mellitus have a reduced ability to take up and
