Meeting the Satisfaction: Internet is the students ability to use this as advantage
in understanding their lessons and to use this as help in answering the module and also
to use this as their way of learning in times of Covid-19 outbreak. Technologies and
Internet have removed distance and space barriers in communication and interaction.
Intel can help school systems enhance the experience of each student and educator
with a holistic solutions approach the focuses on internet to enable learning. Internet
learning increase students’ satisfaction with learning as a very important mediating
role. The relationship between internet and learning is useful to ensure that the
learning needs to emphasize on internet, and motivate students to use internet in their
learning. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been a growing reliance on
the use of internet to learn, live, and stay connected.

This study will still look into how internet makes way to help students in
answering the modules and how internet becomes the advantage of students in
understanding their lessons in the modular and / or blended learning.

Data will be collected through the given questionnaires which elicited the
needed answer and information about the question that are given. A total of 20
students from Grade 12 – STEM were the respondents in Naguilian National High
School. The study showed that the internet gives benefit to the students in the modular
and / or blended learning in this new normal.

iv
SUMMARY OF FINDINGS

The findings of the study are cited hereof which answered the specific
problems:

1. Respondents Profile:

a. Most of the respondents are under the age of 17.

b. Of the 20 respondents, 4 of which are male and 16 are female.

c. All of the respondents are Grade 12 – STEM students.

2. Positive impact of internet connection to the students.

-The students are motivated to learn and have self-reliance. They learn on
their own understanding, they become independent on answering all the activities. It
makes easier to understand their lessons.

3. Satisfactory of students in using internet in this blended learning.

-The internet becomes beneficial to them as a students because it stands as a

teacher to them in this new normal learning. The Internet can provide more access to

information, promote social participation, and further enhance their life experience

and happiness. Students can take advantage of the internet to enhance their ability to

learn on their own, and do their assignment.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The main purpose of this study is to determine how internet makes a way for
learning and how it helps the students to answer their modules.

Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions:

1.What is the profile of the respondents in terms of:

a. Age

b. Gender

c. Grade

learning?

CONCLUSION

The following conclusion are made out of the findings of this research. The
whole sample consisted of a total 20 students from Grade 12 – STEM – Main focus
group discussion through survey was the method used for gathering data about the
topic. These obtained data were analyzed through a descriptive approach and the result
shows that Internet gives benefit to the student in answering their modules. In this
study, the researchers found out that the students are satisfied in using the internet as their
helper in their learning in this new normal education. We found that the internet gives many
different benefits or advantage to the students. We also found that the students are satisfied in
their learning style because they learn on their own understanding. Internet is an effective
way to give information because it opens doorways to a wealth of information, knowledge
and educational resources, increasing opportunities for learning. We found that internet
guides them in a way that it can help speed up the learning process or give more advanced
resources if necessary. We also found that internet can help them excel more because it
provides tremendous educational benefits, such as more information access, and better visual
intelligence skills.

RECOMMENDATIONS

To the Future Researchers.

1. It is suggested that the future researchers may dig deeper in the evidence that
can prove the Internet is helpful in understanding and answering the modules of
the students.
2. This study was only confined to just one school. It means that the result of
this
study may not necessarily apply to students in another school. Therefore, the
vi
researcher recommend to differ the respondents and locale of the study.
3. It is also recommended to use another research method and questionnaires to
gather data.
4. It is recommended that the researcher may add variables that can prove the
Internet as a helper in learning and answering the modules in this blended
learning.
5. It is also recommended that the researcher ay use interview as a methodology.

CHAPTER 1

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

This chapter includes introduction, statement of the problem, assumptions, conceptual

framework, scope and delimitation, significance of the study, and the definition of
terms.

INTRODUCTION

Internet has become an important component in the Academic as it plays a

pivotal role in gathering information and communication need of individuals. It would
be helpful for learners to gain information (Gagan Singh).1

https://www.academia.edu/26321568/Use_of_Internet_for_Research_and_Educational_Activities_by_Resear
ch_Scholars_A_Study_of_D_S_B_Campus_of_Kumaun_University_Nainital
We live in a world where internet access is a now necessity, not a
commodity. Access to a computer / internet is as essential for learning in school as it
helps in answering the modules, giving additional information about the lessons and it
makes easier to understand other things. With the power of the internet where
everyone can access almost everything.

The increasing of internet reflects to new information technology as the world

of communication technology network that can use to learning and helping the
students in answering their modules. The internet is also very important for people
every life nowadays. Globalization makes opportunities and challenges for learners in
education to emphasis on information (Macharia & Nyakwende, 2011).2

The internet is useful for searching information easily and helps students to do
their homework with just only search on search engine that want to know. It also let
them to interact with each other for exchanging their idea and knowledge from a
different location in a same time (www.scribd.com). The interaction between students
offers them to gain different perspectives on a problem discussion by sharing one’s
own learning activities with other learners into problem solving strategies (Solomon &

Perkins, 1998; Fischer, Troendle & Mandl, 2003). So, internet learning increase
students’ satisfaction with learning as a very important mediating role (Liao & Hsieh,
2011).3

The relationship between internet and learning is useful to ensure that the
learning needs to emphasize on internet, and motivate students to use internet in their
learning. According to Sylvia (2000), 4 internet in education can help with individual
learning and teaching such as: help in gathering information and answering the
activities, quickness of delivery, development of communication and writing skills and

Unpredictable Intel Connection during this New Normal”.

FOREIGN LITERATURE

According to Wahab Ali Higher Education Studies 10 (3), 16-25, 2020. In

light of the rising concerns about the spread of Covid-19 and calls to contain the
Corona Virus, a growing number of tertiary institutions have shut down in regards to
face-to-face classes globally. The Corona Virus has revealed emerging vulnerabilities in
education systems around the world. It is now clear that society needs flexible and
resilient education systems as we face unpredictable futures. A meta-analysis

methodology was adopted for this study and pertinent literature was visited to capture
the essence of continued learning during these unprecedented times. Findings reveal
that universities worldwide are moving more and more towards online learning.
Findings also reveal that apart from resources, staff readiness, confidence, student
accessibility, and motivation play important function in ICT integrated learning. This
exploratory paper proposes that staff members should use technology and technological
gadgets to enhance learning especially during these exceptional times. Findings also
propose online learning as s necessity in times of lock downs and social distancing
due to COVID-19 pandemic. It also provides a strong platform for further research.10

According to Bates and Galloway (2012) 11 In early January 2020, scientists

identified a new infectious disease caused be a novel coronavirus. Since then, the
Covid-19 pandemic has caused widespread disruptions to school closures, all face-to-
face lessons were cancelled, compelling many institutions, including our own
university, to immediately transition from face-to-face in-person learning to completely
online lessons. The abrupt switch to fully online learning has been particularly
stressful for many instructors and students who prefer in-person instruction. Online
learning is often stigmatized as a weaker option that provides a lower quality
education than in-person face-to-face learning (Hodges et al. 2020). Indeed, such
negative attitudes to fully online learning were revealed by a large EDUCAUSE
survey (Pomerantz and Brooks 2017). 12
The survey of 11,141 faculty members from
131 U.S. institutions found that only 9% of faculty prefer to teach a fully online
course. In other words, a whopping 91% of faculty do not wish to teach in a
completely online environment. Students’ opinions of fully online courses are not
much better; a recent student survey by EDUCAUSE of more than 40,000 students
across 118 American universities revealed that as many as 70% of the respondents

mostly or completely prefer to face-to-face learning environments (Gierdowski 2019).
Clearly, many faculty members and students do not see the value of fully online
learning, despite the fact that online learning has been around for many decades.
During the current health crisis, many instructors have had to improvise quick online
learning solutions (Hodges et al. 2020). 13 For example, in our own university, there
are anecdotal reports of a myriad of emergency online methods. Some instructors, for
example, merely uploaded their PowerPoint slides or papers onto a learning
management system such as Moodle and asked students to read them on their own.
Any questions were asked asynchronously on the Moodle forum. Other instructors
recorded their own lectures (usually at least one hour long) and asked students to
asynchronously watch the video lectures and then ask individual questions later. Still
others talked for more than two hours via synchronous video platforms watched by
students in their own homes. Although these online methods may be an efficient
method of delivering content, they are not particularly effective in promoting active
learning and interest.

LOCAL LITERATURE

According to Ana P. Santos Filipino students have not been inside a classroom
since March, when President Rodrigo Duterte declared a nationwide public health
emergency. Government education bureaus had planned to eventually allow face-to-
face classes in areas with low COVID-19 infection rates but then, in May, Duterte
created a no vaccine, no classes policy, effectively keeping schools closed indefinitely.
My eyes are stained and may back aches from sitting in the corner for a long time
but I don’t have a choice—I don’t have my own room. It’s bad news for a country
where “there was an education crisis even before[the pandemic],” said Isy Faingold,
chief of education at UNICEF Philippines. Despite the effort that goes into printing
materials, K-12 teachers are still expected to be available for consultations either
online ( usually through Facebook Messenger) or by text. This requires a laptop and

an internet connection, which is out of reach for many public school. Many students,
too, still need the internet to do supplemental research on more complex assignments.14

According to the studies of Alondres, Ayuban, Basig, Columnas, Doguiles,

Estrada, and Villanueva. Although some research has shown a negative elation
between Internet and Academic performance, more recent research suggests that this
relation is likely caused by excessive use of internet. This study examined the time
students spent with internet, as well as the activities they engaged in on the site. The
results showed that the academic performances of the students was not affected. Their
GPA remain constant. Time spent on internet was negatively predictive of GPA for
the other students but only for a few.15

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter presents and discusses the summary of the findings as well as the
conclusions drawn from the indicated results and the corresponding recommendations.

The highlights of this study are of the variables that may prove the Internet is
a big help to the students of Naguilian National High School. Specifically, it sought
to answer the following problems:

1. What is the profile of the respondents in relation to the following

variables:

a. Age

b. Gender

c. Curriculum Year

d. General Average in Grade 11

2. What is the positive impact of internet connections to the respondents

according to their profile?

3. . What satisfactory does the student have on using internet in this blended
learning?

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS

The findings of the study are cited hereof which answered the specific

problems:

1. Respondents Profile:

a. Most of the respondents are under the age of 17.

b. Of the 20 respondents, 4 of which are male and 16 are female.

c. All of the respondents are Grade 12 – STEM students.

20

2. Positive impact of internet connection to the students.

The students are motivated to learn and have self-reliance. They learn on

their own understanding, they become independent on answering all the activities. It

makes easier to understand their lessons.

3. Satisfactory of students in using internet in this blended learning.

The internet becomes beneficial to them as a students because it stands as a

teacher to them in this new normal learning. The Internet can provide more access to

information, promote social participation, and further enhance their life experience

and happiness. Students can take advantage of the internet to enhance their ability to

learn on their own, and do their assignment.

1. It is suggested that the future researchers may dig deeper in the evidence that
can

prove the Internet is helpful in understanding and answering the modules of the

students.

2. This study was only confined to just one school. It means that the result of this

study may not necessarily apply to students in another school. Therefore, the

researcher recommend to differ the respondents and locale of the study.

3. It is also recommended to use another research method and questionnaires to

gather data.

4. It is recommended that the researcher may add variables that can prove the
Internet

as a helper in learning and answering the modules in this blended learning.

5. It is also recommended that the researcher ay use interview as a methodology.

6. It is also recommended that the future researchers may focus on the statement of

the problem.
