Humans impact the physical environment in many ways: overpopulation, pollution,

burning fossil fuels, and deforestation. Changes like these have triggered climate
change, soil erosion, low air quality, and undrinkable water. These negative
impacts can affect human behavior and can prompt mass migrations or battles over
clean water. The first thing I can do to preserve and respect the rights of the
environment is by recycling. Recycling is one the best thing we can do to promote
sustainability. Recycling and buying products made with recycled materials has many
far-reaching benefits. By cleaning up our house and recycling our old household
trash, we instantly get a cleaner home and some extra cash. Buying products with
recycled materials completes the loop. Recycling reduces pressure on raw materials,
reduces mining and the fuel and other costs associated with extracting,
transporting, and processing minerals. We also save valuable landfill space. The
second is to grow our garden. The food we purchase from the market goes through a
process where food is grown, transported, and stored before it can reach a
supermarket's shelves. The food that comes on the shelves of a grocery store is not
always produced through sustainable methods. We can reduce our carbon footprint and
reduce negative environmental impacts by growing our food in our backyard. Third
and last is to plant more trees. Planting more trees and plants has many
ecological, economic, and social benefits. Trees improve the air quality of the
place we live in by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen and give us food
and shade. Trees also combat the greenhouse effects, reduce the pressure on heating
and cooling, and save energy. Trees also protect us from climatic changes, natural
disasters, and catastrophes.

Completing the loop is buying products with recycled materials. Recycling reduces

space as well. The second is for our garden to grow. The food that we buy from the

Through absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen, trees enhance the air
quality of the place we live in and give us food and shade. Trees also combat the
effects of greenhouses, reduce heating and cooling pressures, and save energy.
Trees also protect us from climate change, catastrophes, and natural disasters.
