EXPLORATORY COURSE
GRADE 7/8

Lesson 1: Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies- PECs (PC)


 LO1. Recognize PECs needed in Computer Hardware Servicing
Activity: GROUP ACTIVITY
Directions: Answer the following guide questions on a separate sheet of paper. Share your answers with
the class.

1. Explain the importance of assessing one’s PECs before engaging in a particular entrepreneurial
activity.
2. Are there other strategies or approaches where you can assess your PECs? Explain how these
strategies will become more useful in selecting a viable business venture.
3. What are the desirable personal characteristics, attributes, lifestyles, skills and traits of a
prospective entrepreneur ? Why are these important
4. Why is there a need to assess one’s PECs in terms of characteristics, attributes, lifestyles, skills,
and traits before starting a particular business?

Lesson 2: Environment and Market (EM)


 LO1. Generate a business idea that relates with a career choice in a Computer Hardware
Servicing
Activity: To deepen your understanding of the topics previously discussed, you will be asked to
perform the following activities:
Task 1: Extra Reading and Video Viewing
Reading books and watching videos have been considered as some of the most effective
educational activities that can help learners broaden their understanding on a certain topic. In this
particular task, you will be asked to conduct extra reading and video viewing on the internet with
the following topics:
A. Steps in selecting business idea
B. Criteria of a viable business idea
C. Benefits of good brand
D. Ways on developing a brand.
After successfully performing the assigned task, make a narrative report about it and share it to
the class.

Lesson 3: Use of Hand Tools and Equipment (UT)


 LO1. Prepare hand tools and equipment for computer hardware servicing.
After the discussions of the lessons:
 The students will be divided into 6 groups.
 They are given a performance task, In 10 minutes they will perform on how to prepare
hand tools and equipment for computer hardware servicing.

 LO2. Inspect hand tools and equipment received


Activity:

Lesson 4: Maintain hand tools, equipment and paraphernalia ( MT)


 LO1: Use and maintain hand tools and, measuring instrument and equipment
Activity: Video making/ Individual Task
 Each students will choose what tools, equipment, paraphernalia they are going to make a
demonstration lor a presentation on how to use it.
 Each tools will consist of 4 minutes.
 The video will show it to the class.

Lesson 5: Perform mensuration and calculation ( MC)


 LO1: Perform basis mensuration
Activity:
What would be the best units to use when measuring
(a)the distance between Butuan City and Davao City,
(b)the length of a matchbox,
(c)the mass of a person,
(d)the mass of a letter,
(e)the mass of an elf truck ,
(f)the volume of medicine in a spoon,

 LO2: Carryout mensuration and calculation


After the discussions of the lessons:
Activity: The teacher will call them students one by one, they will be given a 1 minute to answer.
And if the students can’t answer the questions in the given certain time, they will perform an
intermission number in front to the class.

Lesson 6: Prepare and Interpret Technical Drawing (TD)


 LO1: Identify different kinds of technical drawings.

Lesson 7: Practice Occupational Health and Safety Procedures (OS)


 LO1: Identify hazards and risks
Activity: GROUP ACTIVITY POSTER MAKING CONTEST
 Each group will make a poster about hazard and risks.
They will be graded according to the following rubrics.

 LO2: Evaluate hazards and risks


After the discussions of the lesson:
Activity: ROLE PLAYING
 The teacher will discuss about hazard and risk
 The students will make a role play about the hazard and risk
 They will be graded according to the following rubrics.
