Project Description: Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP) is a decentralized,

State based Surveillance Program. intended to detect early warning
signals of impending outbreaks and help initiate an effective response
in a timely manner.

Responsibility: 1. Maintenance of stock of all IT equipments supplied under IDSP and

inform concerned officers regarding requirement of maintenance.
2. Installation, maintenance and regular updation of hardware &
software.
3. Supervision of timely receipt, complete and correct reports from all the
Reporting Units.
4. Compilation & analysis of the reports at the surveillance units and
reporting to State Surveillance Unit and Central Surveillance Unit
5. Frequently appraise Deputy Director (State Surveillance Unit)/District
Surveillance Officer about change in trends of diseases to facilitate visits
to reporting units.
6. Collection of reports from the Private Sector and Medical Colleges
through the Data Entry Operators and other staff.
7. Timely feed back of the status to all the Reporting Units
8. Analyze reports, discuss regarding any outbreaks and give warning
signals to the reporting units and brought to the notice of the Higher
Officers.
9. Data should be sent to State Surveillance unit through the prescribed
format along with Graphical Representation.
10. Maintain regular working of the VSAT equipments and monitoring
related equipments.
11. Bring to the notice of State Surveillance Unit and Central
Surveillance Unit in case of any problems regarding the breakdown of
equipments immediately and give special importance to maintain all
computers virus free.
12. Co-ordinate with NIC Officers and keep them informed regularly
regarding VSAT and data transport
