What is a Dummy Image Generator?

When you are creating a website or landing page and the images you want are not ready yet, you can
use dummy images as placeholders. This will help you see how the content will look when formatted
on your page.

What is a dummy image?

When you design a new site, your text is often ready before your images. With dummy images, you'll
place your content on a web page and use dummy pictures as placeholders till the particular pictures
are accessible. This way you don't have to stop the design process. You can get dummy pictures in
exactly about any size you would like.

Is dummy image maker free?

Yes it is. You can create and upload as many dummy images as you want. These images are designed
to increase the realism of your design, but be sure to swap them out for real images before going
live!

Will image placeholders slow down the loading speed of my site?

These images will replicate what you'll have on your site when it goes live, so it's a good way to test if
they're reducing your webpage's loading speed. If you find the site is loading slower than it should,

Can I select a specific image using the stock image generator?

You cannot select a specific image, but you can choose an image type. For example, if you wanted an
image of a cat, the stock image generator will select ONE image of a cat for you. You won't be able to
choose from a library of cat images.

Where do you get your stock footage from?

Images are taken from Unsplash and are free to use and can be downloaded and used for free. There
is no limit to the number of dummy images you can upload using our tool . Please note that Unsplash
photos can not be oversubscribed while not vital modification.

Image Size Adjustment

Change background color


To change the background color of the dummy image, click on the "Background color" box. This will
open a color picker tool where you can select the desired color. The color picker tool also will have
choices to enter the colour code in HEX, RGB, and HSL forms.

Change text color


To change the text color of the text in the dummy image, click on the "Text color" box. This will open
a color picker tool similar to the background color box.

Changing the font size of text


Set the custom font size in the "Text Size" box. The value in the "Text Size" box will be used as the
font size for the text inside the dummy image. Note that text sizes are pixel units.

By default, the image size is displayed in the dummy image as text.

Use the "Text (optional)" box to edit the text. It is recommended to use only a few words and adjust
the font size accordingly.

Changing the aspect ratio


By default, the dummy image are going to be generated in PNG format. But you can change the
image format to one of the options available in the "Format" selection box.

Finished setting up image properties? Now click on the "GENERATE IMAGE" button to generate the
dummy image.

What image formats are supported?

The Dummy Image Generator tool will generate dummy pictures in 3 formats. They are:

WebP

WebP image format is only supported in Google Chrome and other Chromium forks like Opera,
Brave, Vivaldi, etc.

How many dummy images can I create and upload?


There is no limitation on the number of dummy images one can create and upload. Generate as
many images as you want. It's completely free.
