    Case
    A fight erupts between two students in your classroom, and during the struggle, a desk and
    laptop are broken. The lecturer sends two offenders to the Dean office and immediately Dean
    call their parents to pick them up.
    Question: Based on ethical law profession, Could the lecturer take action directly to punish the
    student without observing the chronology, even if it was with the Dean support?

    4. The first important thing to those who are interested as a professional lawyer is INTEGRITY.
    Why? Integrity means: “NOT STETLING FOR LESS THAN WHAT YOU KNOW YOU
    DESERVE IN YOUR RELATIONSHIPS. ASKING FOR WHAT YOU WANT AND NEED
    FROM OTHERS. SPEAKING YOUR TRUTH, EVENTHOUGH IT MIGHT CREATE
    CONFLICT OR TENSION. BEHAVING IN WAYS THAT ARE IN HARMONY WITH
    YOUR PERSONAL VALUES. MAKING CHOICES BASED ON WHAT YOU BELIEVE
    NOT WHAT THE OTHER BELIVE”.

    3. The lecturer can’t take action to punish the students without observing the chronology,because
    that not in accordance ethical law profession Very ethical emphasis on law enforcement. one's
    professional development, totally dependent on the person who about what made to develop his
    profession. Personally he given full responsibility for quality of professional service. Somebody
    bearers of the legal profession must be who can be fully trusted, that he (law professional) will
    not abuse the existing situation. he must know in advance how events or chronology happened.
    In addition, if the lecturer punishes the students without knowing the chronology, it will violate
    the lecturer's code of ethics as stated in the Decree Of The Rector Of Ganesha University Of
    Education
    Number : 4328/UN48/PJ/2018 About Code of Ethics Policy for Lecturers and Education
    Personnel in the Ganesha University of Education Environment:
    (1) Obedient and obedient to operational standards, work procedures and oriented to efforts
    to improve work quality
    (2) Provide consultation time for students outside the scheduled face-to-face time in class.
    Outside the allotted time, meetings between lecturers and students are held first by
    making an appointment.
    (3) Lecturers are obliged to provide education and teaching with empathy, courtesy,
    selflessness and without elements of coercion

    Therefore, as an ethical lecturer, he should follow the SOP in the Institute, thus the lecturer must
    know the actual chronology and after that discuss it with the Dean and then the Dean will make
    the best decision.
    4.Integrity is a concept related to consistency in actions, values, methods, standards, principles,
    expectations, and outcomes. People with integrity means having an honest personality and
    having a strong character.Someone who has personal integrity will appear confident, elegant, not
    easily influenced by things that are only temporary. Students who have integrity are more
    successful when they become leaders, both formal and informal leaders. Then what about the
    integrity that must be owned by professional lawyer? Based on Law no. 18 of 2003 concerning
    Advocates, lawyers are people whose profession is to provide legal services, both inside and
    outside the courts whose work areas are throughout the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. In
    short, lawyers can be said to be legal experts who have the authority to provide advice or defend
    cases in court. The quality of the professionalism and integrity of an advocate is easily
    measured,the extent to which he is able to carry out moral responsibility in carrying out their
    duties and benefit society and contribute to legal developments today. If the Advocate's
    orientation is only to pursue fee (honor) from the client, not more than that, then the function of
    the Advocate as Law enforcement is not useful for everyone (society and state).
