Learnings on the Docudrama : Rizal – Ang Dakilang Manunulat

 Teodora Alonzo (Jose Rizal’s Mother ) had a hard time giving birth to Jose Rizal since
his head was big.
 The family Mercado-Rizal was a well-off family (may kaya), whom was rumored to
came from Sta Cruz Manila, but due to personal reasons came to Calamba Laguna
 Jose Rizal’s Personal Pluma was called the Memorias De un Estudyante de Manila
 Francisco Mercado was rumored to have a 1,000 authored books by the time Rizal was
growing up
 Rizal’s family had a history of writing and because of that Jose Rizal was heavily
influenced since a writer’s blood is dwelling within him
 Teodora Alonzo was an expert Mathematician
 Rizal Wrote the “Sa aking mga Kabata” when he was 8 years old
 Teodora Alonzo was imprisoned in 1872, for she was accused of murder with no proper
evidence
 Jose Rizal was 11 years old when he joined the Ateneo Mestisos which were considered
to be really big boys and bested them all Academically
 Jose Rizal then wrote the A La Juventud Filipina ( Salin mula sa Kastila ) to challenge his
fellow countrymen to do better
 At the year 1876 Rizal Graduated in Ateneo with the highest grade marks amongst all
and was one of the few labeled as a Sobrasaliente
 Rizal won an award with the book he authored labeled as “ El Consejo de los Dioses “
 Rizals older brother (Paciano) was the one who convinced him to study abroad (Europe)
 Barcelona was the place where rizal wrote his first propaganda entitled “ Elamor Patrio “,
 The year 1884 was the year where rizal received his title in medicine and philosophy
 Ferdinand Blumentritt was one of Rizal’s best friend and even called him ‘brother’
 Ferdinand Blumentritt never set foot on the Philippines yet was considered as the
foremost filipinologist in Europe at that time
 Noli Me Tangere (one of his most famous books alongside El Fili) was written not just in
Europe but also in Madrid, Dient, and Germany
 El Filibusterismo was also written by rizal in many countries before it was finished
 Leonor Rivera was Jose Rizals 2nd cousin and arguably his greatest love
 Leonor Valenzuela was one of Jose Rizal’s ex kasintahan
 Rizal Met Gertrude Beckett in London who became one his ex kasintahans
 Rizal Met Suzanne Jacoby in Belgium and became one of his ex lovers
 O Sei San was one of Rizal’s ex lover’s whom he wrote back to
 Nolly Boustead was one of Jose Rizals Lovers
 Josephine Bracken almost married our National Hero yet Jose Rizal’s family was against

 Jose Rizal was the one who started the La Liga Filipina, whose aim was to unite the
Filipinos
 One of the first members of the La Liga Filipina is the Father of KKK ….. ANDRES

 Rizal won the Lotto in Dapitan and he used the money to buy a very wide Land where he
used to build a dam, a hospital, a school, and etc
 Rizal was an exile in Dapitan, and so no one was allowed to go near him except those
who need medication from him
 Rizal was caught in Cuba, Spain because of the revolution that started in the Philippines
where everyone sought out and screamed “ MABUHAY SI JOSE RIZAL “
 Rizal was then bought back to the Philippines where he was detained in Fort Santiago
 In 1896 Rizal was sentenced to Rebellion and Illegal Mass Gathering and was Ultimately
Sentenced to Death
 Jose Rizal was also the Writer of the El Ti Amor Patrio
 The Pen Is Mightier Than the Sword
 Rizal was then executed by the Friars in the Luneta Park on December 30, 1896.
