Text III

When I was young, I wanted to become a singer. Singing always put me in a good mood. It helped me screen out
unpleasant things, and made me feel that I could tackle any problem. I copied the popular singers that I heard one
on the radio, pretending that I was singing in front of an audience with an orchestra backing me up. I sang in a choir
and singing contests. I was certain that my dream could become a reality someday.

As teenager, however, my dream slowly faded and was replaced by others interest. Like most of my peers, I spent
my time worrying about the other people thought about me- especially boys. I still listen to popular music but I
stopped singing. When the leader of the high school choir asked me to join, I refused. I didn´t think that “cool” kids
sang in the choir. When I grew up, I realized that given up my dreams was mistake.
