Comparing & Contrasting

Purpose:

A symbolic depiction highlighting relationships between elements of that space such subjects, regions,
and themes.

Allows the students to relate JPL’s adventures to theirs hence allows for creativity and reasoning.

1. If you were JPL where would your favourite places be? Draw a map and put appropriate legends on.

2. Explain why you chose to go to those places and what you do there. Use the space below.
A simple map I draw show my some favorites Where i want to go, where i want to go. My first place is
my house Because it's my comfort zone or my place. This is where i am You can relax and sleep.
Second, my friend's house It's fun to go to someone else's house just to talk, interact and play. So
Another place I want to go is school Friends, classmates, and the lessons I learned. I also do school I am
happy and can do what I want to enjoy Achieve your life goals. The church is also my favorite place
Because this is the place where I am in God and create myself Faithful. Thank you for the blessings and
life you have received so far. Another place is the park. Just play, walk, Relax with your friends and
loved ones. Mall may be my favorite It's a place, but not always when I was here, this place is I am too
happy. Last but not least, it's a place for all music because I like to listen Music, and watching others
play different instruments, Make great music. As for Jose P. Laurel, I want to make my childhood life
happy, so I'm thinking about that. Is it his favorite or he wants to leave. Especially his school He got
serious about his research when he was 15 years old. all the people There are various favorite places.
Those favorite places make us complete and happy in our life. Also, gives memories to our life that`s
give happiness.

Activity 2

Considering JPL’s stories as a child answer the following questions:

If JPL Had…

a. An Ipod, what music could he be listening to? Why?

If JPL had an iPod, I believe the song he would listen to is a sample of a song from the 1900s, which is
when JPL was an adolescent. If we listen to songs from the year 1900, we will find that they are classic,
pleasant to the ear, and have a powerful message. Even though the songs are old, we can find them if
we look hard enough.Every lyrics of it was achieved. If I had to pick a song, it would be Kenny Rogers'
"Through the Years," because he is a highly self-reliant man who lives apart from his parents. The song
can also be dedicated to his kind mother.

b. A tablet, what applications could he have used? Why?

If JPL had a tablet, I believe one of the applications he is using right now is Facebook Messenger, which is
a very useful tool for communicating with one another quickly. We know JPL is at his parent's house. He
may speak with his mother, Jacoba Garcia, and her loved ones, Paciencia Hidalgo, with the use of this
program. We also know that JPL studies outside the country, so he must speak with his family and loved
ones on a regular basis merely to greet and console them.

c. A facebook account, what could be his status now?

I believe his current Facebook status is that he is happy and blessed, that he has a stable life, and that he
is doing well.He is a man of honor, and his family and children are extremely fortunate. Because all of his
goals came true, if we consider all of his hard work, sacrifices, and terrible times, it is difficult to believe
that he achieved his aim of being a patriot and a decent Filipino. People admire the aims and dreams he
has achieved in his life. Imagine a tiny kid who was President of the Second Republic of the Philippines
three times in fifth grade. His name was becoming increasingly prominent in recent years. So, if we're
feeling down, if you're tired of the requirements that your lecturers have assigned to you, don't worry
too much and simply do it.

Still pretending to be JPL, choose one singer popular today.

Use the titles of his/her songs (only) to answer the questions: Taylor Swift

a. Describe yourself. Gorgeous

b. Where do you live? Club

c. Usual mode of transportation: Bicycle

d. What do you want to do later? Explore and behold the wonders of nature as well as meditation

e. Quote of the day: Just be yourself, there is no one better

Activity 3

1.What is discipline for you?

Discipline is the practice of requiring people to follow rules or standards of behavior and penalizing
them if they do not. When you refer to an activity or circumstance as a discipline, you're implying that
you must behave in a controlled manner and adhere to specific norms or standards in order to be
successful in it.

2. Do you really think it is possible to learn without discipline?

No, learning without discipline is impossible because the most crucial lesson you can teach a school-
aged child is that discipline is the cornerstone for academic achievement. Even academic
accomplishment is meaningless without discipline, because society only tolerates disciplined people.

3.Do you like it when you get to trouble because of your playfulness?

No. Because I might destroy it if I go into problems due of my prank.

4.How did you feel when your teacher said you won’t amount to anything?

It would upset me if my teacher said that because I try my hardest.

5.What do you plan to do after reflecting on what you did and what the others think of you?

My strategy is to disregard them since I am more knowledgeable about myself than they are, and I will
be inspired by what they think and say about me.

For me, the most important concept is to demonstrate and sacrifice oneself for those who are close to
you. Of course, I support this concept because it is our family, our loved ones, and an important part of
our lives. Without our family and friends, we would be incomplete in this world. Simple actions that
demonstrate our love for our family and friends are worth sacrificing time and effort for.

2.Do you think his belief is still applicable today? Why?

Yes, because many people are referred to as the family's breadwinner. They are the ones who give up
their time and energy.Work solely to ensure the survival of all members of his/her family. Instead of
doing activities that make him or her happy, they work hard for the sake of their family. It just expresses
gratitude for their family.

3. Give your idea of a “mother” based on this selection.

For the sake of her family, a mother is a hardworking individual. She will go to any length for her siblings.
She invests both time and effort. simply to provide for her family. Mother makes a lot of sacrifices, and
whatever consequences she may suffer are insignificant to her in order to express her love for her
family. In whatever situation that her family is confronted with, she is the one who provides inspiration
and thinks of a solution. Even when her siblings are not around, a mother is always present. She is
continually seeking for ways to make her family happy. A mother is a self-sufficient individual who will
go to any length to ensure her child's survival family.

4. Are mothers in the selection stereotyped?

Yes Because appreciation has held us together till now, the mother in the selection is stereotypical. Love
and respect are inseparable.family. Many moms throughout the world are similar to the mother in
terms of the sacrifices they are prepared to make, the time and effort they are willing to put in, and the
hard work they are willing to put in for the sake of their families. They always look after and guide her
siblings till they reach adulthood. They are the ones who make those siblings happy. A sibling must also
demonstrate love, respect, and thanks to their parents.

The death of a loved one is arguably the most traumatic experience we can have. That is never going to
happen to us. It is natural and reasonable to be sad when someone we care about passes away.dies. It is
not a disease, though it may make us feel bad for a while. It can be found in the reading that Jose P.
Laurel was grieving and had problems accepting his mother's death. After his mother died, he was still in
sorrow and heartbroken. He was reminiscing about his mother's younger years. Jose P. Laurel also wears
a black necktie as a show of respect, as if to remind him that his mother is still alive and well.

The relationship between a mother and a child is one of the most beautiful.son. Jose P. Laurel's attitude
is an example of a man's perfect personality. He was the embodiment of a son who adored and admired
his mother. His legacy must be passed down to future generations. Jose P. Laurel's portrayal of his

JPL, I believe, wore a black tie to honor his mother. Strength, gravity, power, and authority are all
represented by the color black. Black is a famous hue that is formal, elegant, and formal. He wears a
black necktie as a representation of his strong feelings, and he is strong enough to survive the sadness
he feels when his mother passes away. Furthermore, I believe that wearing a black necktie can increase
his strength since it gives him the impression that his mother is still alive and well. He feels less pain,
misery, and longing as a result of doing so.
