ABSTRACT

VISION: A PREMIER HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION THAT DEVELOPS

GLOBALLY COMPETITIVE, LOCALLY RESPONSIVE, INNOVATIVE
PROFESSIONALS AND LIFE-LONG LEARNERS.

Bachelor of Secondary Education Oriented State College of Occidental Mindoro

Higher education plays an increasingly critical role in the economic competitiveness of

local, state, and national economies. The factors driving the World Economic Forum's Global
Competitiveness Index are examined to illustrate how higher education has come to be viewed as
a driver of economic growth. The examination of the institutional economic development reports
and national economic competitiveness plans proves that there is a vital aspect towards growing
global interest and import of economic competitiveness and how governments are seeking to
harness the power of higher education to support their competitiveness. This reflection paper
concludes with a discussion of how higher education institutions specifically the Commission on
Higher Education (CHED) could collaborate to develop public agendas to guide, among other
things, the economic contributions of colleges and universities.

II-MAIN BODY
Higher education has engaged in many discussions about the need to prepare students to
be globally competitive in this increasingly complex world. As the doors of the 21st century
open different societies around the world in derivation to different levels of cohesive levels of
expertise and knowledge before a specific field of study are exponentially in need to grossed and
meet the demands expectations (field of expertise- Demand). This term demands the fields of
expertise is a manifestation of an inadequate level of competitiveness showcased by different
kinds of learning institutions towards higher education. To put it into conclusion, this field of
expertise step-up is a very comprehensive approach by the Commission of Higher Education that
manifested in its coverage of learning institutions specifically Occidental Mindoro State College.
This comprehensive approach of the school bought a major impact on the overall physical and
mentally based embodiment of future preparatory measures to college students to be able to
cope-up and face the increasing future demands of manifested skills.

OMSC college students being the core representation of the school’s prior academic
learning atmosphere, which output manifest to learners for the emergence of centered
developmental outcome that is derived from the conduct of productive supplication of Potent
Instructions to the students for the ingestion of valuable directive taught requisitions and
knowledge before a certain field of study delivered by the school’s Educators which is necessary
for both the learner and the Learning Institution. Moreover, the institution produces research
studies benefit the communities where the research occurs. Research studies that are product of
school are in tune with the communities’ needs and wants, and the results was made available to
them.
In terms of technical advisory services evolving educational objectives, changing student
needs and demographic developments require school systems to be highly responsive to new
patterns of demand and adapt their provision accordingly. The organization of school facilities,
sectors and programs plays a key role in doing so and in providing students with a high-quality
education where they need it. Also the institution employs and range of tools and strategies to
ensure success. It also places a premium on fostering and enhancing trust as a critical element in
long-term, sustainable engagement. In addition to the OMSC is offering options on different
levels they want to meet individual needs when guiding their students to a higher level of
sustainability knowledge.
Given the delivery modes for learning during this pandemic, how can you still contribute to
achieving the VMGO of the OMSC and of the BSEd program?
The COVID-19 pandemic has created the largest disruption of education systems in history, affecting
nearly 1.6 billion learners in more than 190 countries and all continents. Closures of schools and other
learning spaces have impacted 94 percent of the world’s student population, up to 99 percent in low and
lower-middle-income countries. The shock of the COVID-19 crisis on education has been unprecedented.
It has set the clock back on the attainment of educational goals and disproportionately affected the poorer
and most vulnerable. And yet, the institution has proved resilient, laying the groundwork for the rebound.
There remains a risk of a downward spiral, in a negative feedback loop of learning loss and exclusion.
Yet every negative spiral of aggravating socioeconomic circumstances suggests its reverse image of a
positive spiral, one which would lead to the future of education we want: one of inclusive change in
education delivery, of unleashing the potential of the students, and collective fulfillment, in all areas of
life, through education investment. There is an unlimited drive, and untapped resources, we can count on
for the restoration, not only of education’s essential services but of its fundamental aspirations. It is the
responsibility of governments and education stakeholders to find their role in making it happen. As a
student of Occidental Mindoro State College, I can say that the institution is doing its full extent to
achieve the VMGO despite the massive change the pandemic had brought. My role as a student is to be
part of the fight, by being one of the responsible and productive constituents. By, embodying the VMGO
I can contribute to the BSED department, CTE, and the whole institution,
