being stressed, ie what exactly the speaker is trying to say by stressing
that words. For some sentences you will be asked to comment on two
words that can be stressed.

Hint: Read out each sentence several times with your chosen word
stressed so that you can work out the reason for that stress.

Example: I haven’t seen him since Monday.

In this sentence, ''Monday' is stressed as the speaker wants to emphasise when the

on Tuesday.

since the contact, because Monday was a long time ago.

viewing rest of the things the other person wants to show.

3. Paul has gone to the theatre.

never used to go to the theatre and on that day he went to the theatre.

4. Have you heard about Marcella?

and on that particular evening he/she does not want to do any
work.
