Senior Volunteer For the Month Of June 2011:
Matthew Dodge, CPA
We would like thank Jerry Thomas for all the volunteer work he has
Robyn Brown, Office Specialist done here at the senior center. Jerry is a member of our advisory
Donna Coates, Meal Aide council and is our sunshine committee member. Jerry was born on
February 2, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Rhys and Grace Thomas.
Sandy Twelves, Kitchen
Jerry grew up with 4 siblings: Dorothy (76), Jim (66), Dan (64) and
Corinne Campbell, Kitchen Larry (57) (deceased). Jerry went to school to Webster which is exactly where our
Ruth Truesdell, Driver senior center stands today. Jerry married Teresia in August of 1966 in the Oakland
Temple and later divorced. They have 3 children: Mark (42), Jerry Jr. (37) and
Ron Payne, Driver Elizabeth (33). They also have 11 grandchildren (2 deceased) and 1 great grandchild.
Ed Ortega, Janitorial Jerry had a wonderful career as a Chef in his own restaurant and later was a
custodian for the LDS church. Jerry moved to Magna, Utah in 2001 to take care of

his ailing aunt. He has been coming to our senior center for 9 years and has
Michael Dusserre, Tai Chi Instructor contributed a lot in those years. As a member of the advisory council, he makes sure
Frances Dee, Yoga/Zumba Instructor every senior that is sick or has had a death in the family receives a card. Jerry also
calls many of our bingo games 3 days a week. Jerry’s favorite things at the center are
to play pinochle, mexican dominos, bingo and to make friendships. His hobbies are
cards, games, church, driving around town and watching the Tabernacle Choir. Jo-
seph Smith is Jerry’s favorite historical person because he restored the gospel. Jerry
also loves to watch the Sound of Music which is a favorite for many I bet. A unique
New Members: fact about Jerry is he used to cook 3 meals a day for 235 people in a restaurant hotel
