This research project aims to:
 describe how do students academically engage during online
distance learning (ODL);

As one of the University’s research hubs, the Institute of Teaching and
Learning conducts significant researches that contribute to the advancement
of knowledge in instructional pedagogy.

priorities of the academic engagement during ODL and provide an action plan to address

for the future development of instructional pedagogy in the continuation of
ODL.
The purpose of the study is to enhance the academic engagement of Grade
5 students in the EsP subject during online distance learning at PNU-ITL
by providing an action plan that addresses its challenges.

The study will utilize a quantitative descriptive research design to describe
how students academically engage during ODL and identify its challenges.

The researchers will conduct an online data collection. The data will be
gathered from Grade 5 students at PNU-ITL using a researcher-made

The collected data will be analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis,


specifically, the frequency and percentage distribution, weighted mean, and
standard deviation. The researchers will utilize Microsoft Excel as their
statistical tool.

The respondents of this research are the Grade 5 students of PNU ITL.

Confidentiality and Handling of Data


The data gathered in this study will be kept strictly confidential and solely
used for academic purposes. Finally, all collected data will be destroyed
upon completion of the study.

Consent Form
The respondents will be given consent forms to sign if they are willing to
participate in the study. They should be aware that they have the option to
decline participation or withdraw at any time without affecting their
relationship with the researchers.
