CHAPTER I

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This chapter presents the introduction about the customized coffins

entitled Angel’s Customized Coffins and Funeral Care Services. This chapter also

discusses the rationale of the study, objectives of the study, the description of

venture, the management of organization, marketing, technical financial, socio-

economic significance, and critical risk.

1.1 Introduction
Currently, Maasim, Sarangani Province had only two funeral homes

located both at Barrio Site, Colon, Maasim, Sarangani Province namely Majar

Funeral Homes and Sobretodo Funeral Homes. As estimated, Maasim has

59,000 and above residents living officially with distinct race, tribes and

ethnicity, religion affiliations, beliefs and cultural traditions, dialect spoken and

practices. Islam, Roman Catholic, Protestants, the Iglesia ni Cristo’s (INC)

are the well-known religions here in town. While Bisaya, Maguindanao,

Jolojano, Samal, Tausug, Maranao, B’laan are the common tribes and dialect

spoken have existed. But the leading practices of most people followed by

the Christian followers such as the ways of waking a dead person and giving

a burial. Well in fact, Maasim has a wide population and yet it only has two

funeral homes, there would be a tendency that the two competitors might be

lack of supplies in case.

As the new business formed, the group would like to have a funeral home

that is more unique, noticeable product and very satisfying services. This is
the new Angel’s Customized Coffins and Funeral Care Services, yes it is

evolved and developed. The coffins would be customized by the design and

features to the customer’s desire but still durable and long-lasting. This made

to satisfy everyone who is in need financially, specifically.

1.2. Rationale of the Study

This business firm offers two combined goods, the customized coffins and

services to all people in Maasim, Sarangani Province who followed traditional

mourning that last more than 1 week. Thus, this helped to lessen the expenses of

every bereaved family also who lost their loved one. The affordable price, and

exact services would serve the clients right away.

1.3. Objectives of the Study


The following are the objectives of the study:

1.) The business would provide customized coffins according to the client’s

desire;

2.) To lessen the costs of every family who suffers by letting the clients to

avail the lending type of service;

3.) To determine the possible problems, risks, and obstacles that the business

firm might encounter;

4.) To provide quality products and services to the clients in terms of the

burial preparation;

5.) To become the business firm legally operated and comprehensive.

6.) To manage the business in a productive action;

7.) To meet the clients wants and to make them satisfy on the business firm
product;

8.) To become more competent in the business operation as a way to

increase productivity.

1.4. Description of the Venture


Angel’s Customized and Funeral Care Services, within the partnership of

Maasim Emergency Hospital emerged to give a little help. This business would

not be put into reality without the person who has in a position, the organizers.

Organizers such as the manager, the financial analyst, embalmer, burial

organizer, cashier, secretary, make-up artist, coffin designer and the coffin maker

are good enough to make a business and develop it. The business group

decided to form this kind of business so that the less fortunate and the poor

people could avail and could at least the wake of their death is proper and

satisfying to the soul.

1.5. Management and Organization Summary


The business firm chosen the partnership type of organization. In a

partnership, two or more people share ownership of a single business. The

partners will have a legal agreement that sets forth how decisions made, profits

shared, disputes should be resolved and must decide up front how much time

and capital are contributed.

Partnership is relatively easy to establish. However, time should be

invested in developing the partnership agreement. Hence, the profits from the

business flow directly through to the partners’ personal tax return. For the

target market is an essential part for knowing the areas of consideration such as

the client’s demand and initiate how to produce a product in a certain area.

1.7. Technical Summary


The business would provide basic details and information about the whole

making of the group and its tools and equipment to be used. Like traditional

coffins ever before, the business would like also to use traditional raw materials
that have been used before. Thus, this business also gives clients easy to

access the area by the location map and vicinity map given so that the customers

would not get hard to gather information about the location whenever they want

to visit and inquire about the business.

identifying the negative and positive effects inside the business. Here are the

The coffin would not be just as good as new but also stylish since

the design of the coffin would be in accordance to the client’s desire. But

customers could still also choose the traditional one, the business group
decided to re-create it because it is expected that some clients would be a

millennial one.
