Something To Do
1. Suppose you live in a houseboat. How will you fulfil your requirement of going to school, buying vegetables,
meeting your friends, etc.
Ans. Do it yourself.

Ans. Huts in slums lack several basic amenities such as health and hygiene, safe drinking water, toilets, etc.
The members living in such areas are bound to go outside for toilets. They bring water from far off places. They don’t
have access to education. So, their children remain illiterate and sometimes become victims of crimes when they grow
up.
3. Observe your colony/village and write down the types of houses and materials used to make them.
Ans. I live in the plains. All the houses here are built with thick walls and high, flat roofs. The materials of their
construction are cement, bricks, marbles, iron rods, etc.
4. There is a shortage of water in your neighbour’s house. How will you help them?
Ans. I will help them by giving them some fresh water for drinking and cooking purposes. Moreover, I will also offer
them to use my bathroom and toilet.
