HSI (High Speed Internet) CONFIGURATION FOR GPON

Step 1: Creating Service Profile.


1. Go to “Service Profile” option under “GPON” section.
2. Click on “Add Service Profile”.
Once the service profile is created, it is displayed on service profile page as shown below:
Step 2: Creating Connections for the ONTs.
1. Go to “Connections” option under “GPON” section.
2. Click on “Add New Connection”.
Once the “Connections” are created, it is displayed on “Connections” page as shown below:

Step 3: Configure Ethernet Switching Parameters as shown below;


1. Go to “Port Configuration” option under “Service Switch” of “L2 Services”.
2. Click on “edit” of “Edit Switching Parameters” column.
Step 4: Creating Flow Point Template.
1. Go to “Flow Point Templates” option under “Services Provisioning” of “L2 Services”.
2. Click on “Provision a new FlowPointTemplate”.
3. Configure the parameters as shown below:
Once the “Flow Point Template” is created, it is displayed on “Flow Point Templates” page as shown
below:
Step 5: Creating Eline Service.
1. Go to “ELINE Services” option under “Services Provisioning” of “L2 Services”.
2. Click on “Add new ELINE Service”.

[ Here, Physical interface ETH-1-2-2 is mapped to logical interface BPETH-1-3-206. Since ONTs are
connected to 6th port of 3rd slot of PON card, BPETH-1-3-206 is to be selected in this scenario. It might
vary as per physical connection made.]

Once, ELINE Service is created, it is displayed on “ELINE Services” page as shown below:
Detailed Setup:
Laptop 1 Configuration:
USB Internet Dongle is connected to Laptop 1 and ethernet cable is connected to LAN port of the laptop
through 2nd Port of CEF7G card here.
1. Right Click on USB Internet Dongle [MBlaze] here.
2. Go to “Properties”.
3. Click on “Sharing”.
4. Check the appropriate boxes as shown in the figure below:
5. The “TCP/IPv4 Properties” of “Local Area Connection” will be displayed as below:

The “Network Connection Details” of USB Internet Dongle[MBlaze] is shown below:


These details are used to configure the DNS IP addresses for Laptop 2.
Laptop 2 Configuration:
Now, connect laptop 2 to the ONT Ethernet Port 1 (i.e.; ONTGEthPort-1-3-6-1-1-1) as it is configured
for HSI while creating “Connections”.
The “Network Connections” for Laptop 2 is shown in the figure below:
1. Configure the “TCP/IPv4 Properties” of “Local Area Connection” of Laptop 2.
2. The “Default Gateway” is provided as the “IP address” of Laptop 1, the “IP address” of Laptop 2
is configured in the subnetwork of Gateway, and the “Preferred DNS server” & “Alternate DNS
server” of Laptop 2 is configured as DNS server details of USB Internet Dongle[MBlaze] of
Laptop 1.
3. After configuration of “TCP/IPv4 Properties”, Internet connectivity is established and browsing
is enabled seamlessly.
