UE-NSTP COMMUNITY IMMERSION PROPSAL

Proponent: Marc Joel S. Estacion

Section 1. Justification of the project
School feeding programs are beneficial for the physical, mental, and psychosocial
development of school-age children and adolescents, particularly those in low- and middle-income
countries (LMICs). While school feeding programs are ubiquitous in LMICs, the specific benefits
of school feeding programs are unclear. The aim of this systematic program and meta-analysis is
to evaluate the impacts of school feeding programs on the educational and health outcomes of
children and adolescents in LMICs.
Nutrition during the school years is crucial for the physical, mental, and psychosocial development
of children and adolescents aged 6 to 19 years. It is estimated that, across the developing world,
66 million school-age children go to school every day hungry, with 23 million hungry children in
Africa and Philippines combined. Attending classes hungry severely impacts children’s and
adolescents’ the abilities to learn, to thrive, and to realize their full potentials.
This epidemic has affected all of us. Our daily lives have altered, and sadly, most of us have had
difficulties navigating this epidemic. Even before the epidemic, some Filipino families were
struggling to put food on the table. In reality, according to a United Nations estimate, 59 million
Filipinos were already food insecure prior to COVID-19. This, combined with the scarcity of
nutritional food for Filipino families (particularly children), has been one of our country's many
recurring difficulties.
This is why kulay lgbtq+ community is keeping with our goal to make a positive difference in
the lives of street children, Child hope Philippines has created a feeding program to fight this ever-
present problem in our society.
The objectives of KULAY feeding program include the following:
 Improve the nutrition of certain individuals, for instance, children;
 Provide effective and sustainable source of nutritional meals to improve the health and
welfare of these individuals;
 Reduce and prevent malnutrition or undernutrition;
 Educate about health and nutrition; and
 Combat of food insecurity and hunger.
In addition, we drive feeding initiatives to accomplish our mission of supporting children's rights
and welfare by meeting one of their fundamental needs: enough and nutritious meals.
Section 2. Scope, Application, and Target participants/beneficiaries

1. This program support children's health and development.

A healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition are two of an individual's essential demands. Beneficiaries
of feeding programs that give nutritious meals will become healthy and well-developed persons in
the long term.
2. It boosts focus and academic achievement in school.
Better focus and performance in school are connected to a healthy diet and lifestyle. Nobody can
concentrate or attend courses successfully if they are hungry. As a result, nutritious meals will
result in improved academic achievement.
3. It offers assistance to the children's parents and guardians.
Children and young students are frequently the recipients of feeding initiatives. We are assisting
and alleviating the strain on their parents and guardians through these services. The majority of
our recipients come from underserved areas of our community.
4. Farmers and local vendors are also promoted through the activities.
Feeding programs also benefit and assist the local community, which serves as a supplier for these
projects.
5. It assists the community in rising beyond poverty.
Our beneficiaries and the communities to which they belong would eventually terminate and
alleviate their poverty. Feeding programs empower them and provide them with sufficient
nourishment so that they may go about their daily lives and be more responsible students,
ultimately allowing them to strive to a brighter future.
Finally, the advantages of feeding programs extend beyond delivering nutritious meals to
youngsters. It also includes making a difference in their lives and enabling them to have a brighter
future. These initiatives are just simple, sure-fire measures toward empowering street children and
giving them hope that, despite their current difficulties, their future is still in their control.

Section 3. Methodology
The first step that the proponent of this program will take is to make a list of all the expenditures
that will be incurred for the event and assign each responsibility to volunteers. The following step
is to purchase all of the items stated to our farmers and suppliers in order to make a budgeted and
pricey expense, and then coordinate all of the meals, prices, and other items purchased for the said
event. On the first day of the community immersion, the proponent will appoint someone to
undertake some work such as cooking, organizing designs, and inviting people to come over. We
will then inform people about the purpose and vision of our immersion and educate them about
our current state. Finally, when the food program concludes, the proponent and his team discuss
the long project that the organization is doing and provide them with requirements for daily living.
This cycle will repeat itself in each feeding program in different brgy's in District 2.
