2. A three – phase alternator has a rating of 5000 kVA at 13,200 V. Calculate the full load line current.
3. A dc armature winding resistance between terminals of a 750 kVA, 4400 V, three – phase alternator is 0.9 ohm.
Calculate the copper loss in the winding at full load.
4. The flux distribution over the surface of a two – pole stator of radius r and length l is given by
B=B M cos (ω M t−α). Prove that the total flux under each pole face is ∅=2rl BM .
5. A 200 – kVA, 480 V, 50 Hz, Y-connected synchronous generator with a rated field current of 5A was tested and
the following data were taken:
a. V T ,OC at the rated I F was measured to be 540V.
b. I L ,sC at the rated I F was found to be 300A
c. When a dc voltage of 10 V was applied to two of the terminals, a current of 25 A was measured.
