Let Us Study!
Amazing! You got a good start! You seemed to have an idea of what you
will be learning in this activity sheet.
The idea of school uniforms seems like an outmoded concept for many
students in the Philippines especially to those who studied in public
schools. Yet, around the world, wearing school uniforms has been the rule.
Students studying whether in private or public schools are required to wear
school uniforms.
Often, the cause of bullying in schools are from people being different
for not wearing the precise clothes. If someone looks richer, most people
feel like they have a higher social status or more power. To the contrary,
uniforms allow students to learn on a fairer level, with less judgment about
choices of clothing, brands, or physical appearance.
A lot of students who wear school uniforms claimed that they feel
prouder of their school. Wearing school colors gives students a feeling of
being more connected to their school and classmates or even in the
community. Wearing school uniforms can also help people gain more self-
confidence because they will be identified as part of the institution.

If education is not seen as important, then one day it will just be all
about school scores and will be just a part of the curriculum. Without
education, learning is hard to achieve.

guidelines for each writing technique you will use in your writing
activities. Are you now ready?
Now that you have finished reading the guidelines. Use the given tips as
your guide in writing. This time, write a short speech about an informative
speech and persuasive speech.
Try to follow the given directions for you to be guided while writing. Let’s
get it on paper!

Activity 1A: Informative Speech Writing
Speech intended to inform and share new ideas and build perceptions
about “Tree Planting.” Give the importance of your topic to the audience.
This speech aims to give the audience a new understanding or new
appreciation of some subject with which you might be familiar.
How did you find the previous activities? Are you still excited to write?
Very good! Since you’re done writing an informative and persuasive speech, this
time, you are going to practice more of your writing skills about a short
argumentative speech. Try to change the reader’s mind by convincing him or
her to agree with your perspective about “Nature vs. Nurture.”

Let Us Remember!
How was everything so far? I believe you have learned so much from the
guidelines from your previous activity. Now, read the following descriptions of
each writing technique carefully. These are very important in your writing.
Informative Writing
As a writer, you simply need to select
a certain topic and provide backup
statement or supporting facts for it in
informative writing. Choosing a good topic
results in a good essay. Choose topics that
are relevant or as you judge to be necessary
for your community.

interesting style of writing for the
students.

Let Us Reflect!
Remember that when you write, focus your attention on the given topic,
set your objectives, and present your ideas to educate your readers. Using a
variety of writing techniques is quite challenging. Do not worry if sometimes
you find it hard to express your opinions. What’s important is you are slowly
learning and willing to improve yourself, especially in your writing skills. Good
luck, and keep on writing.
