RESOLUTION ORGANIZING THE “AKSYON BARANGAY KONTRA DENGUE (ABKD)”
TASK FORCE OF BARANGAY VILLANUEVA, SAN MANUEL, ISABELA
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the State to uphold people’s constitutional right to life and implement programs that promote public health and safety, and instil health consciousness among them; likewise, that it is one of the eight United Nations Millennium Goals;
WHEREAS, with the rise in the alarm level of dengue cases, the Department of Health, in 2011, issued DOH Memorandum 2011-0235 for the nationwide implementation of “Aksyon Barangay Kontra Dengue (ABKD)”, the government’s response to intensify the fight against dengue cases and control dengue transmission;
WHEREAS, the ABKD employed a communication strategy called “4S” that echoed four messages to the public: 1. Search and destroy the breeding sites, 2. Seek early consultation, 3. Self-protection, and 4. Say yes to fogging only in hot spot areas where increase in cases is registered for two consecutive weeks;
WHEREAS, the Barangay Council during their Regular Session has made deliberation as regard the organization of the “Aksyon Barangay Kontra Dengue (ABKD)” Task Force to reduce continually and substantially the occurrence of dengue at Barangay Villanueva, San Manuel, Isabela through prevention and control;
NOW THEREFORE, in view of the foregoing premises and upon the unanimous accord of all the members of the august body present, it was…
RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to organize the Aksyon Barangay Kontra
Dengue (ABKD) Task Force of Barangay Villanueva, San Manuel, Isabela to reduce continually
1|Page and substantially the occurrence of dengue within the barangay through prevention and control;
RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this resolution be forwarded to the Office of the Municipal Mayor, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Municipal Rural Health Unit, the Honorable Members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Municipal Sanitary Inspector, and the Department of Health, for their information and guidance.
