HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE COMPUTER

SICom program uses Modbus RTU protocol, so only the ports with this protocol can be used to establish the communication. Follow the
next steps to start the session:
 Connect the relay to the PC through a port that uses Modbus RTU protocol (depending on the relay this ports can be RS232, RS485 or USB).
 Open the SICom previously installed. The following screen will appear:
 Press “File” menu to select the communication address (up on the left). Please, take into account the used port (local or remote) to choose the address
correctly.
 Press “Monitoring” menu and the following window will be opened:
 Pressing start, the password (by default 5555) and the corresponding communication port can be selected.
 If all the parameters are correct the session will start:
 If there is some parameter wrong selected, a message will appear informing about it, and the session will not start.

At the moment, it is not possible to work offline; this is, without being connected to the relay.
WHAT IS SHOWN IN MAIN SCREEN
The main screen is divided in different parts:
On the top of the screen all the different options of the relay are displayed.
From the left to the right it is shown:
Stop  It is used to stop the session States
 It is used to see all the states
Settings  It is used to consult and change the different settings
Configuration  It allows to access to the relay outputs, inputs and logical signals that can be configured. Events  All
the events can be downloaded to analyze them
Faults  All the fault reports can be downloaded to analyze them
Oscillo  It allows downloading the oscillographic registers in COMTRADE format.
Demand  It allow to analyze the demand of current
Set Date/Time  It is used to synchronize the relay
Set Counters  Modify the value of the counters is permitted thanks to this menu
Execute Command  It allows to carry out different commands
Change access  The access levels can be modified thanks to this menu

NOTE: Depending on the relay some of this menu can be not available
CONFIGURATION
Press “Configuration” option:
A window with the Outputs, Leds and Logical signals will be opened. If the relay offers demand of current, it will also appear:
How to change the configuration
Expand the options to see all the signals that can be configured:
Selecting a signal, the different fields to configure will be opened: Make the changes on Output 2

These fields are:

 Criteria Operation
 State Time
 Gate Output

Last field specifies the signal that it is being configured.

CRITERIA
This field is made up of all criteria included in “States menu” in the relay, this is, protection functions, inputs, outputs, logic, communications… All the options that can be
assigned to outputs, leds and logical signals will appear:
STATE
Once, a criterion is selected, the different states associated to that criterion will appear in “State” field:
GATE
The next field is “gate”. It is possible to choose between OR, NOR, AND, NAND. The inputs of these gates will be the signals selected in Criteria field:
OPERATION
Finally, logical gate can be selected between Latch, Pulse, Several pulses or Timer (depending on model some of these options will not be available). The input of this
logical gate will be the output of the previous gate:
Once the configuration is finished a shown below message that it has not been sent will appear at the bottom of the screen. Press “Send configuration” and it will be sent to the
relay:
If the configuration is sent correctly, a message confirming it will be shown:
