ROLE OF RPMS-PPST IN
TEACHERS’ LEARNING
Required Task 1: Activity AND DEVELOPMENT
Read the scenarios below and answer the question that follows by choosing the
correct answer from the given options.
Scenario 1: Classes have ended. Teachers Rona, Evalou and Rex are
planning for their development needs. Teacher Rona shared with the
group that she struggles to meet the indicators in Domain 2 of PPST. She
has been challenged in managing her learners’ behavior. Teacher Evalou
admitted that she has not fully developed all core competencies indicated
in the RPMS. Teacher Rex is the top performer among the three. He just
got an “Outstanding Rating” for the school year. Teacher Rex feels that he
still needs to participate in L&D activities to address his developmental
needs.

The RPMS tools are related to two different teacher performance evaluation
measures, one for proficient teachers and another for master teachers (Highly Proficient
Teachers). The tasks and obligations of teachers at various career stages are covered in
each tool, along with the Key Result Areas (KRAs) that must be met in order for the tasks
to be carried out and the particular goals that must be met in order to meet the KRAs.
Various Means of Verification (MOV) are also presented in detail, along with performance
indicators that range from excellent to subpar performance, as evidence that certain
objectives have been met.
I now know that all teacher learning, and development programs are built around
the PPST in order to make sure that teachers are adequately prepared to carry out the
K–12 curriculum, whereas the RPMS are used as assessment tools to make sure that
teachers perform well at various stages of their careers. The Domains and Indicators in
the PPST serve as the foundation for the Key Result Areas and Objectives in the RPMS,
respectively. It is simple to use and acts as a road map for teachers to follow in order to
adhere to the requirements.

SUPPORT MATERIALS
Required Task 1: Reflection
I am very proud that I got an outstanding mark in my latest IPCRF Rating but
it doesn’t mean that I am excellent in everything. I found out and I know that I need to
improve myself in some indicators and objectives. I need to level up and recalibrate myself
so I can cope up to what the Department of Education wants me to be.
SESSION 5
DEVELOPING LESSON
PLANS AS QUALITY
Preliminary Activity EVIDENCE FOR RPMS
Choose a lesson plan which you have previously crafted. Enumerate all
parts and describe what you have entered on each part.
Course 3 The lesson plan was used last school year 2020-2021. The plan that I
crafted was on detailed format. I made use that my plan was integrated to other
learning areas. I made use of HOTS questions to facilitate learning. I used strategies
that encouraged learners to participate and relate. I also made use of different literary
