Questions for Interview
1. What are the types of assessment that you use during this new normal
setting?
— Pre assessment or Diagnostic Test, Formative assessment and Summative
assessment.

2. Why should a teacher find out if students understand the lesson while
teaching is in progress (formative assessment)?
— To provide the teacher the opportunity to improve learning based on the
students responses throughout the teaching and learning process.

3. Do you record results of formative assessment for grading purposes? Why or


why not?
— It is recorded but not graded, it is used in the first attempt of developing
instructions.

4. In the Normal of Education, what is the adjustment made by DepEd in grading


learners?
— In the new normal education the DepEd issues the policy and Guideliness
for assessment and Grading enlight of the basic education learning continuity plan.

5. As a teacher, what methods you do assessment as learning or self-


assessment? Explain briefly.
— As a teacher, I used different techniques or ways of self-assessment like
checklists and questioner, observation, self-questionnaire, formative feedback, and
creating professional learning network in order to become better and to evaluate and
adjust performance as an educator.

6. What is the importance of summative assessment?


— To assess the extent to which the most important outcome at the end of
the instructions have been reach.
7. In the new normal education, what do you do to report the progress of the
learners?
— To report the progress of the learner's we used DISTANCE MODULAR
LEARNING (MDL) MODALITY SELF-LEARNING MODULE
ACCOMPLISHMENT FEEDBACK FORM. All of students output recorded in
this form. It is also used to track the performance of the students in every
quarter.

8. In constructing test question, is table of specification (TOS) important? Why?


— Yes table of specification is important because it allows the teachers to
construct a test which focuses on the learning competencies and weights
those different areas based on their importance.

9. In giving assessment test, traditional or non-traditional, what is the role of


scoring rubric?
— To provide consistency in evaluating students work.

10. Do you require your learners to make portfolio? What is the advantage of
portfolio? Explain briefly.
— Yes I required my learners to make a portfolio especially to special
program of art, because portfolio permits students to keep track of their best
and monitor their expanding and improving their craft of talent.

Reflect
Upon doing the interview and analyzing the answers of the interviewee, reflect on the
following.

1. Formative assessment is tasting soup while cooking. Reflect on this and write
your reflections.
— This means that you are assessing the knowledge of your students. You
tasting their capacities before pouring all the ingredients they needed to make
their minds fully cooked.

2. Should you record results of formative assessment? Why or why not?


— No, because this is just an assessment. They are not yet familiar with the
lesson that you will teach to them.

3. The primary purpose of assessment is not to measure but to further learning.


Reflect on your personal experiences of assessment in school. Were you
given opportunities for self-assessment? If yes, what was its impact on your
learning?
— Yes, the impact of this to my learning is that I already have the chance to
understand and analyze the questions in my own understandings. It teaches
me train the capacity of my mind in thinking deeply about the words or phrase
that I might encounter.

4. Why should assessment tasks be aligned to the learning outcomes?

— because assessment task is the result after your discussion, so it should


be aligned in learning outcomes.

5. Revisit Kendall’s and Marzano taxonomy, which are the highest cognitive
skills? Give an example of an assessment question for each of the two
highest cognitive skills – metacognitive skills and system thinking.

— The highest cognitive skills self system thinking.


6. A Table of Specification (TOS) is a two-way chart which describes the topics
to be covered by a test and a number of items or points which will be
associated with each topic.

following:
a. What are the bases for grading?
— the bases for grading are written works, performance tasks, and
quarterly assessment every quarter.

b. How do you compute grades per quarter for Grades 1 to 10 and


Grades 11 to 12. Give an example.
c. How do you compute grades at the end of the school year?

— For grade 1 to 10 Here are the the ways to compute:


The average of quarterly grade (QG) produces the final grade.
d. What descriptors and grading scale are used in reporting progress of
learners?

— If the student get a grade of 75 learners will proceed to the next level
while the learner with lowest remarks will repeat. But the teachers give them a
chance that is to take a remedial exam so that they can proceed to the next level.

— The non-numerical rating scale will be used to report on learners'
behavior demontrating the core values.
