Mr. Arturo F. Gonzales is President and CEO of AG FOODS CORP, a junk food manufacturing plant located in Sta. Ana,
Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. He employs some 80 personnel assigned in different areas inside his plant. His 3-hectare
compound which includes a 1,500 warehouse was issued an ECC by the DENR-EMB 10 last February 10, 2019 with
control number (ECC-R10-1014-0557). Mr. Gonzales designated his son-in-law Mr. Jomar R. Santos as the plant
operations manager. Engr. Joel T. Garcia is the designated PCO and got his EMB accreditation on April 6, 2019. AG Foods
also has its own fleet of delivery trucks and maintains a motorpool and machine shop. Construction of its wastewater
treatment facility was completed on May 2, 2019 and commissioned on June 15, 2019. AG FOODS obtained the
following permits from DENR-EMB-10:
Wastewater Discharge Permit on August 15, 2019 (POW-1114-0774) to expire August 30, 2020.
Permit to Operate (coal fired boiler) issued on May 30, 2019 (2019-POA-4560-3338) to expire May 30, 2020.
Permit to Operate (standby genset) issued on August 17, 2019 (2019-POA-5220-1178) to expire August 30, 2020.
Hazardous Waste ID: GR-R10-43-00006 (issued August 6, 2019) with CCO# CCO-2019-0440 (mercury sulfate) issued
August 22, 2019.
The average operation for the quarter is 16 hrs per day in 2 shifts in 4 days a week and maximum of 24 hrs per day in 2
shiftS in 3 days. Average daily product output in 10.23 tons. Quarterly output in 941.16 tons. Total Water Consumption
in a quarter of 243,530.60 cu.m. Total Electric consumed for this quarter is 4,750,689.20 kwh. At the start of the quarter,
there was no stock for mercury sulfate until September 25, 2019 that 3 bottles of 100 gms/bot is purchased from Yana
Chemodities leaving 100 gms at the end of the quarter. The average quantity of waste chemical generated per month is
10 ml liquid waste (4000ppm Hg. approx). The total quantity of waste chemical generated this quarter is 3.50 liters
without stock on at the start of quarter.
Data for hazardous waste generation are gathered as follows: B201, B202, B204 (acid wastes), C301 (alkali wastes) =
2,713. 78 cu.m./day but with zero stock since treated on site by Anaerobic & Aerobic treatment and discharged to
submarine outfall. Regular maintenance is undertaken on the treatment site as corrective actions. I101 (used oil) = 0
generated and a stock of 2,450 liters by drums in warehouse (sold to accredited buyers) in proper stocking and
monitored in weekly basis.
D406 (lead acid batteries) = 71 pcs generated adding to the 48 pcs as a stock by file in the warehouse (sold to scrap
buyers) in proper stocking and monitored weekly. D407 (busted lamps) = 0 stock and added with 196 pcs. (sold to scrap
buyers) in proper stocking and inspected weekly. As to this quarter, no selling to scrap buyers was made for hazwaste
and is only stored in the hazardous waste facility.
