When engaged by the operator for “off-road” use, the sidecar wheel
is driven by a transverse drive shaft connected with the rear drive
via a universal joint.

Ural Patrol and Ural Gear-Up have two driving modes; 1WD for normal on-road
driving and 2WD (non-differential) for off-road over short impassable sections,
