Lima Subway

Lima Subway: is the metropolitan railway whose network covers the metropolitan
area of Lima, made up of the conurbation of the cities of Lima and Callao, in Peru.
On February 20, 1986, the first government of Alan García created the "Autonomous
Authority for the Special Project for the Electric Mass Transportation System of Lima
and Callao".
The Tralima consortium promptly began construction works on the infrastructure for
an elevated viaduct metro. On October 18, 1986, the first stone was laid in what is
now Los Cabitos Station on Line 1.
In September 1995, the 9.2 km Villa el Salvador - Atocongo section was delivered to
the Peruvian state.
On December 2, 2009, the Ministry granted the construction to the Lima Electric
Train Consortium, formed by the Brazilian company Odebrecht together with Graña
y Montero from Peru. The civil works for the continuation of Line 1 of the Lima Metro
began on Tuesday, March 2, 2010.
Section 1 of Line 1 was inaugurated on July 11, 2011 by President Alan García Pérez
during his second government
In 2012, complementary works began on Line 1. After almost two years of work, the
second section was completed.
in 2014 the construction of line 2 began
Lines 3 and 4 of the metro have not yet started to be built but the project is pending
