Webinar on Engineering Designs, Site Stocking Density, and
Activity: Other Engineering Details on Aquaculture Systems
Date and Time: April 24, 2021 at 2:00 – 5:00 PM
Venue: Studio (live via Zoom Meeting)
Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers, Graduate students of Participants: MSE-LAWREAT, and Undergraduate students of BSABE Speaker: Engr. Lanie Amores Gerodias
Rationale:
Nowadays, everything is in a state of flux. Everyday sprout a new change. Lots of
research and studies are carried out on various subjects around the world. As Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers of the 21 st century, there is a need to obtain updated and useful knowledge on the changing engineering and technical innovations related to the field. Agricultural and biosystems engineers covers a broader perspective on the application of the fundamental and known principles of engineering to the peculiar

They must always keep their eyes on what new things are arriving day by day, to become aware of the updated technologies and provide latest information to cope with our changing world. The Master of Science in Engineering major in Land and Water Resources, Engineering, and Technology (MSE – LAWREAT) of the Department of Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering, has long been conducting free face-to-face seminars to Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (former Agricultural Engineers) and students of Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE) to help them gain updated information and technical innovations that Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers can apply to their field of work, and that students of BSABE can apply to their future endeavor. However, due to the current situation and limited interaction brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, face-to-face seminars are prohibited by the COVID-19 Inter- Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF). Nevertheless, this will not hinder the urge of the students of MSE-LAWREAT to help fellow Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers to acquire technical expertise which can be useful in their professional growth and development, and to provide additional knowledge to BSABE students. Hence, the free Webinar on Engineering Designs, Site Stocking Density, and Other Engineering Details on Aquaculture Systems is being proposed. This endeavor will be facilitated by MSE – LAWREAT 2nd year students, with a competent speaker which is an alumnus of the university.
Objectives:
1. To facilitate free Webinar on Engineering Designs, Site Stocking Density, and
Other Engineering Details on Aquaculture Systems for Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers and BSABE students through a competent speaker to handle in presenting and explaining the topic to the participants. 2. To provide Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers and BSABE students an in- depth technical knowledge on aquaculture systems.
