Addiction to drugs is largely a concern among teenagers. These kids grow up to be drug addicts. It has a
bad impact on a person’s mental and physical health, and it damages the brain significantly. Drugs are taken
unintentionally at first, but it is difficult to resist them sooner. Drug abuse is defined as a long-term pattern of
compulsive and excessive drug usage. Overuse of drugs has a negative effect on someone’s brain and it can lead
to various health-related diseases like heart failure and kidney disease.
.Drug abuse and addiction, now both referred to as substance or drug use disorder, is a self-destructive
pattern of substance that use that causes substantial issues and distress, including tolerance to or withdrawal
from the substance.
According to research, combining medications with counseling provides the best chance of success for
the majority of patients.
Drug misuse is wreaking havoc on society today, costing billions of dollars in treatment and
rehabilitation, as well as reducing productivity and increasing crime. Many approaches and strategies for
dealing with the drug problem have been implemented, including strengthening law enforcement agencies,
developing preventative initiatives, and enhancing antidrug education.
This campaign is to let people be aware and orient them to not use illegal drugs and disseminate
information about drugs. People may gain information that will make prevention efforts more successful by
developing clearer thoughts on people’s mind.
Background:
In 2016, President Rodrigo Duterte launched a nationwide anti-drug campaign primarily implemented
by the Philippine National Police. Wave of killings perpetrated by known police officers and unidentified
assailants. The first three months after Pres. Duterte launched the campaign, a lot of low-level drug suspects
died.
