If the washer is not working, the washer fluid jug may be empty. Check the washer fluid level on the level gauge.

Clean water can be used as a washing liquid. However, in cold areas, when the temperature is below zero, a

washing liquid containing antifreeze must be used. Such products are available at BYD authorized service stores and

most auto parts stores. The mixing ratio with water can be according to the manufacturer's instructions. After the washing

jug is filled with washing liquid, screw the lid tightly.

Notice

* Do not use other antifreeze as the washer fluid for the front windshield at low temperature, which will damage the

paint layer of the vehicle.

In freezing weather, use a defroster to warm the windshield before using the cleaner.

Air conditioning refrigerant detection:

Air-conditioning refrigerant pressure detection: turn off the air-conditioning compressor, use a pressure gauge, connect the high-pressure filling

port and the low-pressure filling port at the same time, and read the value after the pressure is stable, between 0.6MP~1MP (the distance value is affected by

the ambient temperature) Normal, the value is too low, the refrigerant is lacking, and the refrigerant needs to be refilled; the value is too high, the refrigerant is

too much, and the refrigerant needs to be refilled.

Leak detection of air-conditioning refrigerant: use a halogen detector if possible, around the pipeline

When moving, an alarm will sound at the place where the refrigerant is missing. If there is no alarm, there will be no refrigerant leakage.

When there is no professional instrument, use soap mixed with water to brush the surface of the pipeline with a brush,

Winter Driving Essentials

Power battery performance

The performance of the power battery will decrease in a low temperature environment. If the vehicle is not used for a long time in winter,

you should pay attention to charging and maintaining the battery. Charge the battery to 100% SOC (state of charge) once a month and

then discharge it to 70%~80% to preserve the battery life.

78

Notice

* When the temperature of the power battery is lower than -35,* the power battery will not be able to charge and discharge. *

When the temperature of the power battery is between -35°C and -20°C, the power battery can be discharged but no

method to charge.

* When the temperature of the power battery is above -20*, the power battery can be charged and discharged.

power economy

At low temperature, the charging and discharging capacity of the power battery decreases, and the power performance of the vehicle decreases. With the operation of

the vehicle, the battery discharges and the temperature rises, and the power performance of the vehicle gradually returns to normal.

ABS (Anti-lock Braking System)

Features

This vehicle is equipped with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) which can prevent the wheels from locking when braking, to improve

the stability and steering control performance of the vehicle. The ABS brake pressure adjustment process is realized through

autonomous control, and does not require additional operation by the driver.

Kind tips

*The conventional braking system still works when the ABS fails. *

When the vehicle accelerates above 10km/h, the ABS system starts to work and decelerates

When it is below 5km/h, it will stop working.

* Depressing the brake pedal on wet and slippery roads such as manhole covers and steel plates in rainy days will automatically activate

ABS system.

*Brake pedal vibration may be felt and noise may be heard when the ABS system function is activated.

At this time, press the brake pedal slightly, ABS can work normally.

83
BYD T45C01 User Manual

Notice

* After the vehicle is started, if the ABS system fails, the

The ABS indicator light will come on. The anti-lock braking function will be disabled. At this time, it is necessary to take

corresponding cautious driving methods, and immediately notify BYD sales and service personnel or drive the car to the

repair station designated by BYD in time for maintenance.

Brake priority function

The brake priority function is a function that only responds to the brake signal when the vehicle accelerator signal and the brake signal appear at the

same time. That is, the vehicle has no power output in the following two situations:

1. When the vehicle is in D or R gear, depress the accelerator pedal and brake pedal at the same time. 2. Apply the parking

brake and press the accelerator when the vehicle is on the parking brake.

The vehicle can start only by stepping on the accelerator when there is no brake signal input.

Regenerative braking function

The regenerative braking function is that when the vehicle is braking, the driving motor changes to the generator condition, and the kinetic energy is

converted into electric energy and stored in the battery. Brake feedback can effectively improve driving safety and reduce the pressure on traditional

braking systems. It can improve the driving mileage of the vehicle and save energy consumption.

3-12. Driving Essentials

new car running

The correct running-in of the new car has a great relationship to prolong the service life of the vehicle and improve the reliability of the vehicle

operation. Our company recommends that a new car or a vehicle with new transmission system components (such as drive motor, wheel hub

bearing, etc.) be replaced within the first 5000km for the running-in period.

The following regulations should be observed during the new car run-in period

84
BYD T45C01 User Manual

* Drive on flat, hard, solid surfaces with low gradients throughout the run-in period. * Drive safely, try to avoid sudden

acceleration and sudden braking. * Pay attention to the temperature of the drive motor, hub and brake.

The cause should be found and adjusted or repaired.

after walk-in

After running-in, follow the running-in maintenance items.

Kind tips

* When the vehicle is used for the first time, it is necessary to perform an operation of fully charging and then discharging the battery (ie,

fully discharging) to make the SOC accurate. The recommended full discharge operation is: SOC at 20%

When the car is moved to the charging pile, turn on the air conditioner to heat, and discharge until the high voltage is cut off.

energy efficient driving

* Energy-saving driving skills:

1. Start at a low speed, accelerate slowly and steadily, and avoid abrupt starts.

2. Drive at a constant speed, keep the accelerator pedal as still as possible, avoid unnecessary parking or braking, and keep a proper driving

distance from the vehicle in front to avoid emergency braking and use energy reasonably.

3. Avoid high-traffic or traffic-congested areas as much as possible.

4. After exceeding the economical speed, the faster the speed, the greater the wind resistance, the more power consumption, and the better the control.

The maximum speed and maintaining the speed properly can save energy.

5. Improve energy recovery. During the deceleration process of the vehicle, try to use the sliding mode to decelerate to facilitate the recovery

of electric energy. When there is no need for emergency braking, release the accelerator pedal and step on the brake pedal lightly

to facilitate the slow braking function of the motor.

Notice

* When braking in an emergency, the driver must depress the brake pedal as quickly as a conventional vehicle.

85
BYD T45C01 User Manual

boards to ensure the safety of pedestrians and vehicles.

6. Before turning on the air conditioner in summer, the windows should be opened to let the hot air dissipate. When driving, the windows should be closed tightly.

Generally, the air conditioner should be set at 26°C; when the temperature is not high, use the ventilation mode.

7. Maintain normal tire air pressure; when the air pressure is high, the power consumption will be lower, but the tire life will be shortened and the adhesion will

be reduced, so it is necessary to choose the tire and tire pressure correctly.

8. The wheels should be kept in the correct position, otherwise it will cause the tires to wear too fast, the powertrain load will increase, and the power will be

consumed.

9. When parking for a long time, press the gear N button, switch to neutral, and apply the handbrake.

10. It is recommended that the vehicle be powered off when the vehicle is parked for more than 15 minutes.
