II. Background and rationale:

Over 91% of the world's student population has been affected by school closures due to the

COVID-19 pandemic (UNESCO 2020). In the Philippines, the Department of Education has initiated

measures to support and strengthen delivery of instruction despite the many challenges in order to help

students deal with the uncertainties caused by the pandemic and to engage students to continue

learning even while normal school operations are disrupted.

Mountain Province has used modular learning as an Alternative Delivery Mode for the first two

quarters and none so far in all the learning areas has used blended delivery. It is for this reason that

this training is proposed to train a core group from all the schools in Bontoc District to prepare learning

resource materials in multimedia form to be used during the fourth quarter.

Modular Distance Learning involves individualized instruction that allows learners to use Self-

Learning Modules (SLMs) in print or digital format/electronic copy, whichever is applicable in the

context of the learner, and other learning resources like Learner’s Materials, textbooks, activity sheets,

study guides and other study materials. Learners access electronic copies of learning materials on a

computer, tablet PC, or smartphone. CDs, DVDs, USB storage and computer-based applications can

all be used to deliver e-learning materials, including VIDEO-BASED (MULTIMEDIA LEARNING

FORMAT) LMs. The teacher takes the responsibility of monitoring the progress of the learners. The

learners may ask assistance from the teacher via e-mail, text message/instant messaging, etc. Where

possible, the teacher shall do home visits to learners needing remediation or assistance. Any member

of the family or other stakeholder in the community needs to serve as para-teachers.

III. Objectives:
The training aims to capacitate the participants in developing Audio and Video-Based (Multimedia

Learning Format) of quarter 4 Self-Learning Modules for K to 6.

Specifically, after the training, the participants are expected to:


1) apply the principles and strategies of multimedia learning format; and

2) produce an engaging multimedia learning resources that will be used to supplement the Q4

modules in terms of substantial discussion of the lesson.

IV. Training Methodologies:

Discussion/Lecture, Power Point Presentation & Story Boarding, Script Writing/Preparation &

Video Performance, Demonstration & Workshop, Video Shooting/Recording, Video & Audio

Processing, Video Rendering, Critiquing and Evaluation will be used through a small group face-to-face

training-workshop adopting IATF health protocols.

VIII. Monitoring and Evaluation


The evaluation of the activity will be carried out by the participants and the
facilitators will summarize and interpret it. One Representative from the Division and
District Office will also monitor the activity to ensure smooth flow and safety of the
participants and facilitators.

A narrative report on the accomplishment of the activity will be submitted to


the District Office and the submission of audio-visual material outputs will be
monitored by the training team while the content will be evaluated, and quality
assured by the subject area supervisors.
