Having teaching experience of 14+ years in Pakistan and Oman.

In Pakistan, I was a lecturer in the


computer engineering department where I taught operating systems, computer architecture and
Artificial intelligence. In Middle East College I was part of the computing department where I taught
courses on operating systems, accounting and finance information systems, computer architecture,
business intelligence and analytics etc. I held the department quality coordinator and course
development committee where I was involved in developing the course BSc. Computer Science with
pathways (Computer Science, Software Technology and Data Analytics). In my current institution, I am a
program leader for BSc. Computer Security and Forensic.

In my service, I stepped up and taught courses assigned by the program leaders/managers in times
when there is a shortage of staff members, especially during COVID-19. To respect individuals and work
in teamwork I used to provide support in my workplaces where necessary like invigilation, and
emergency replacement of faculty so the department working would not get affected in the operations.
As familiar with the UK Higher Education Framework, middle east college was affiliated with Coventry
University UK and the global college of engineering and technology is affiliated with the University of
West England Bristol. Making assessments based on the operational plan and getting it internally
moderated. Then communicate with the Link Tutor in a smooth process without any delays.

Coordinate with industry experts and invite them to give a guest lecture based on their expertise and
specialization in the modules to give students the latest market trends. Take constructive feedback on
teaching and learning methods applied in the modules. Through student satisfaction surveys, and
module evaluation surveys and reflect them in the program monitoring report. An example is that in the
student satisfaction survey student require more exercises to be able to equip for the end semester
exam. Making the result anonymous and discrete, H5P activities were made and uploaded in Moodle
and discussed with students how this might help you based on your student satisfaction survey.
Similarly, in the module, the results were low in the midterm examination. The issue was discussed with
the module team and each member suggested a solution to improve better grades and keep in mind the
high risks students. One member suggested giving a Mock exam, one suggested having similar activities
in Moodle and I suggested more in-class activities as we found after COVID-19 students faced difficulties
writing in the exams. As a module leader, I choose other faculty opinions and we employed all the
suggestions in the module that will help students.

Continuously contacting students with High Risk or term exceed or student is not submitted the
assignment within a time frame. Guidance and support are provided continuously so the student can
excel and graduate on time. 1 student in COVID-19 register a module and before the assessment
submission, she used to stop responding and didn’t submit or finish the module. The student success
centre was involved and counselling was given to a student with extra support within the module as she
used to have fear of failing the assessment. Keeping discretion and the class session was conducted with
the student success centre to remove the fear of the student.

Following the policy and procedures of the institution where have to provide time and constructive
feedback to students. Moodle is used to provide sandwich feedback to students and also used
assignment options so students’ integrity and confidentiality are attained. Being a fellow of HEA, I always
strive for adopting and promote best practices in the department. In COVID-19 to provide better student
engagement and experience created H5P contents of the module other than online classes through
MSTeams.
It is evident from the research publication and a faculty I always strive to increase not only the subject
knowledge and understanding to inform teaching materials, methods and delivery. The application of
these methods can be seen through published articles. Based on the college's strategic plan and Oman
always stepped up to engage in research and entry activities. For example, engaging with students and
converting students’ projects to be published in MEC held IEEE conference and MEC Journal of Big Data
and Smart Cities relevant to logistics, mobile application and security.

In my previous and current employment, 19 different nationalities of students are studying and
experienced in handling based on learning styles. Solving problems as the Academic Personal Tutor
based on academic’s issues of the students.
