The new gasket has a silicone bead that enhances sealing and compression retention. Technicians should install it with the bead against the steel pump hub. It will be included in relevant service kits going forward as current stock of the former gasket is used up.

    SUBJECT: Release of a New Torque Converter Pump Hub Gasket

    EQUIPMENT AFFECTED: MT 640, MT(B) 643, MT 650, MT(B) 653

    A new torque converter pump hub gasket has been released for all MT 600 transmissions using a 300 Series torque
    converter. The new gasket, P/N 29524795, replaces the former gasket, P/N 675997 1, and has a silicone bead on
    one side which enhances the sealing and compression retention characteristics of the gasket.

    The new gasket is fully interchangeable with the former gasket without regard to transmission serial number.

    The former gasket, P/N 6759971, will continue to be serviced for use in other products. The new gasket,
    P/N 29524795, is available from the Allison Transmission Parts Distribution Center.

    The new gasket has a silicone bead on only one side. Install the gasket with the bead against the steel torque
    converter pump hub.
