Answer:
Corporate social Responsibility (CSR) basically means that corporations
holds responsibility for economic situations but also for social and their
environmental surroundings. It is also known as “triple bottom line”. Certain
laws in Australia were framed to protect the rights of human standards.
examples of such laws include:
 Laws relating to avoid discrimination and promote equality at the
workplace.
 Another example focuses on the condition of workplace, safety of
workers, protecting the basic rights of workers like avoidance of child
labour, fair wage policy and lots more
 Laws that protect economical, social and cultural aspect of workers.

In addition to certain human right standards, there is a broad category


relevant to corporates which includes:
 Rights for indigenous people
 Right to liberty and security of population
 Right to freedom of their expression
 Right to freedom of thought, religion
 Right to education
 Right to adequate standard of living
 Right to sound health

To qualify and quantify the drivers for CSR you need to look at the
environment in which an organisation operates such as its industry,
governance, compliance for legislation, competitive advantage, leadership
and culture. Some of these drivers can include:

 Public relations
 Management of Risk
 Engagement and motivation of employees
 Considerations related to Economy
The value of these drivers could include better business performance, more
engaged customer experience, employee engagement and attracting top
talent, lowering business costs (by reducing environmental impacts),
reputation for sustainability practices, innovative practices.
Examples include:

 Lower costs through sustainable practices such as recycling,
procurement, reducing consumption and environmental impact
through energy efficiency.
