Assalamualikum, I am Daniya Sohail, leader of group 5.

I would like you to meet my group members:

Ayesha, Haiqa, Areesha, Zehra, Samrah, Iqra, Khatija, Tazeen and Sadia. My goal with this presentation is
to acquaint you with the mechanics and many aspects of English Language. So, I'll start off with an
introduction and the theme of the video we’ve chosen to analyze.

Introduction:
For our presentation, we’ve chosen an uplifting and empowering speech “We all are perfectly
imperfect” delivered by Pakistani activist, singer, and artist Muniba Mazari. I will now cover the main
themes she focused on in her speech:

Themes:
1. Life Struggles:
“I was 18 years old when I got married. I belong to a very conservative family, a Baloch family.
My father wanted me to get married and all I said was if that makes you happy, I will say ‘YES’.
and of course, it was never a happy marriage. Just about after 2 years of getting married, about
9 years ago, I met a car accident. Somehow my husband fell asleep and the car fell into the
ditch. He managed to jump out, saved himself. I am happy for him. But I stayed inside the car
and I sustain a lot of injuries. But that injury changed me and my life completely”

Muniba recounts her life struggles, mentioning how her father compelled her to marry when she
was only 18, shattering her dreams of being an artist. She talks about the car accident that
deformed her body but transformed her soul and made her question her toxic relationship with her
husband. As a consequence, she emerged renewed and with a new outlook on life.

2. Accept your imperfections:

“People think that they will not be accepted by other people, because we, in the world of perfect
people, are imperfect.”(MUNIBA MAZARI)

Muniba urges those with disabilities not to believe that society will reject them due to their
flaws. Such thinking is entirely incorrect since disabled people have the same rights as everyone
else when it comes to expressing their presence in the world. She admits that before the
accident, she, too, was perfect like everyone else, but after the accident, she discovered that if
your soul is perfect from within, this is all what you need to be.

3. Perseverance:
“It is OK to be scared. It is OK to cry. Everything is OK but giving up is not be an option, should
not be an option. They always say that failure is not an option. Failure should be an option.
When you fail, you get up and then you fail, then you get up, that keeps you going.”
Muniba has taught us to never let failure of any kind set us down. After the tragedy, Muniba was
unable to even brush her teeth by herself. But she persevered in the face of adversity, and now
that she has fully recovered, she can paint once more!

4. Gratitude:
“Real happiness doesn’t lie in money, success or fame. It lies in gratitude. Be grateful for what
you have and you’ll end up having more.”

Muniba asserts that success, money and fame are not sources of true pleasure. True happiness lies in
being grateful. So, be grateful and savor every moment of your life.

5. Inspire others:

“The woman who believed in me even when I was completely on the verge of despair where
everybody left, she was there. She used to look at me and say, this too shall pass. God has a bigger
plan. One day you will say that oh my God, that is why God has chosen me. She never cried in front
of me. She always said that there will be haters, there will be naysayers, there will be disbelievers
and there will be you to proving them wrong. My mother.”

Muniba had experienced a stage in her life where she could not even think about one single reason of
surviving. She praises her mother, who supported her through the ups and downs of her life and stood
by her in challenging times, and credits her for who she is today. She encourages us to be an example
for others, and who knows; maybe we can radically change someone’s life.
