Description
The Sidewinder AIM-9 was originally introduced in 1978 with upgrades to the
target detector and a new, reduced smoke SR116 rocket motor.
The Sidewinder AIM-9 missile remains in service in many countries around the
world. To ensure a safe, effective and reliable operation beyond its designed
operational service life, professional and timely application of PBLCM services
are required.
RUAG Aviation is the sole source depot level maintenance contractor for the
Swiss and US Air Force for the Sidewinder AIM-9P family and in this role has
accumulated more than 40 years of Sidewinder AIM-9P-4/5 PBLCM experience.
