The Ministry of Education (MoE) has started the digital transformation in the education sector with
firm steps towards meeting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030:

Tatweer Educational Technologies (TETCO) is the technology arm


of the Saudi Ministry of Education (MOE)
Currently leading a numerous wide national initiatives towards
transforming education in Saudi Arabia,

with partnership of the private sector


Highlights on Current Initiatives:
Future Gate
Future Gate is effectively utilizing information technology, capacity
building of teachers and new pedagogical methods to reform schools
and innovate the delivery of learning and teaching in k12 throughout
the kingdom, following the strategic objectives of the vision 2030.

Future Gate and the ultimate stakeholders of the
educational experience.

Virtual school and Smart Classrooms
❖ The virtual school system aims to use technology in offering high quality and interactive
learning for all students across the Kingdom.

❖ Simultaneously connecting students in schools with outstanding teachers from different


regions.

❖ Powered by modern and integrated system for providing interactive distance learning in
schools

❖ The virtual schools consists of:


▪ Projection screens, equipped with smart cameras allowing high interaction
between teacher and student.

▪ Interactive whiteboards to deliver lessons and enable input and interaction of


students.

▪ Recording cameras, to capture the interaction in the classroom

▪ A platform for sharing educational materials and activities

❖ Train and certify teachers on “ Teaching with Digital Technology”


❖ Cambridge International Certificate and Diploma in Teaching and Learning
❖ Use of technology to design, deliver and evaluate learning
❖ Delivered in blended learning style (face-to-face training and online)
❖ Covered three regions
❖ Phase 1, 150 teachers (2017/2018)
❖ Phase 2, 350 teachers (2018/2019)
❖ 1000 Teachers to be trained by 2022

❖ Build the computational thinking, programing and Core Topics

❖ Advance the infrastructure of 50 schools in three regions Data and Information Representation
❖ Start with a pilot of 50 teachers and 10 educational
supervisors 2018/2019 (6000 students) Physical Computing/Robotics
❖ Expand gradually to other schools in the coming years
❖ Start in primary education (5th and 6th grade)
Private Sector Participation and Role

❖ TETCO is playing an active role in engaging and supporting Small


Medium Enterprises to participate in the delivery of the transformation
initiatives
❖ Working with its partners from large firms to assure well alignment of
these firms towards the common goals
❖ TETCO worked with more than 20 private sector partners in the Future
Gate program and other initiatives last year
❖ More engagement of the private sector companies is foreseen towards
successful delivery and service of the large initiatives of the education
sector in KSA

❖ The digital education transformation ensures inclusive and equitable


quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
❖ The four dimensions of sustainability (Educational, Economic, Equity
(social), Environmental) are encompassed in the V2030 and emphasize
on sustainable education through technology and the effective
achievements.
