“PREPARE REPORT ON DETAILED ESTIMATE AND COLLECT
IMFORMATION ABOUT IT”
Rational :
A detailed estimate is prepared after its complete set of
drawings are ready. The quantities of various items of work are worked out
from such drawings and are multiplied by the present rates of items of
works to arrive at the estimated cost of the work.
In Government Organisation, a detailed estimate is required for
obtaining technical sanction from the competent authorities for the proposed work. A
detailed estimate is also required for the preparation of contract (agreement)
document. The detailed estimates serve as a guide during the execution of the work.

Aim of Micro-project
1. To collect the information about detailed estimate.
2. To know the analysis of detailed estimate.
3. To know the detailed estimate.

knowledge of construction cost estimate support the detailed cost
estimate, because this knowledge were ignored and not understood by
most estimators in the field of construction industry in Yemen. Cost is one
of the three main challenges for the construction manager, where the
success of a project is according to the criteria of cost with budget,
schedule on time, and quality .

INFORMATION ABOUT MICRO-PROJECT:-

Slab culvert, also known as bridge culverts, can be three-sided, or

simply a deck slab embedded in the soil on either side, providing a bridge over the
distance. Usually, a series of slabs are laid to form a bridge-like structure, and a
pavement surface is placed on top to serve as the road.
The slab culverts are constructed for a span of maximum 2.5 m in
width. To construct the slab culvert, a stone or R.C.C slab is directly placed over
the simply supported beam on piers or aboutments. The culvert, having its
superstructure consisting of RCC slab which carries the bridge floor, is known as
slab culvert. In this type of culvert, the RCC slab of suitable thickness is provided
as simply supported over abutments and piers which are constructed of any
suitable type of masonry.
■ Following are the types of culverts generally used in construction:
● Pipe Culvert (Single or Multiple) Pipe culverts are widely used culverts and rounded in shape.
● Pipe Arch Culvert (Single or Multiple)
● Box Culvert (Single or Multiple)
● Arch Culvert.
● Bridge Culvert.
■ PIPE CULVERT:- When a pipe is placed in an excavated trench to move water away, it is known as
pipe culvert. It is the most commonly used drainage feature ... Pipe culverts are found in different
shapes such as circular, elliptical, pipe arch etc. Generally, the shape depends on site conditions
and constraints.

■ PIPE ARCH CULVERT:-Pipe arch culverts means nothing but they looks like half circle shaped
culverts. Pipe arch culverts are suitable for larger water flows but the flow should be stable. Because
of arch shape fishes or sewage in the drainage easily carried to the outlet without stocking at the inlet
or bottom of channel

■ BOX CULVERT:- Box Culverts are used for drainage purposes. They are also used to make
tunnels and used for storage as well as material handling. Some culverts act as bridges. They easily
accommodate both pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
■ ARCH CULVERT:-It defines an arch culvert a: 'The most common form of culvert construction for
river, road, canal, and railway culverts until the mid-19th century. Can be arched, or egg-shaped. For
smaller widths, these may be masonry/brick channel side walls capped with a simply-supported slab
roof.

8) Skill Developed/ Learning outcome of this Micro- project:

• Communication skill
• Presentation skill
• Preparation of report

9) Application Of This Micro-Project: It is used as a mould for a structure in which

fresh concrete is poured only to harden subsequently.
Slabculvert construction good quality of materials.
