    Why are twin studies valuable in behavioral genetics research?

    Twin studies are studies that are organized and conducted on fraternal or identical twins.

    They’re very valuable when it comes to behavioral genetic research because it help us better

    understand how nurture and nature work together. Researches determine which traits are

    inherited and which traits are cultivated from the environment or the subjects surroundings. Also

    twin studies have analyze numbers of behavioral traits probable by genetic component. Some are

    influenced by the environment. Finding the differences and similarities between the twins comes

    very valuable in behavioral research.

    What does the research say about the effect of environment on IQ scores in poor

    homes versus affluent homes? What does this suggest?

    The new research that is being conducted answer was “It Depends”. Heritability used by

    behavioral geneticist defined the relation to a particular environment and a particular population.

    So to find out what the answer is the only way to get the data needed it to go out and study them.

    That’s what Psychologist Eric Turkheimer and his colleagues did. Turkheimer and his colleagues

    found that poor families who grew up in the same household have similar IQ scores. Regardless

    of how genetically similar they’re. So as affluent families, monozygotic twins with identical

    twins have much more similar IQ scores than dizygotic twins. Regardless of the family

    environment.

    What is the conclusion of the article? How might these finding be useful to other

    researches?

    The conclusion of the article is all about Heritability and how statistical measure defined

    in relation to a particular environment of a particular population. In the future, these countless

    research will be very useful on studying the fields of breeding and genetics. Knowing the trait in

    a population that is due to genetic variation between an individual and the individual’s

    population.
