PM-KISAN (Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare)

The full form of PM-KISAN is Pradhan Mantri


Kisan Samman Nidhi. It is an initiative by the
government of India for farmers.

The Scheme is in effect from 01.12. 2018. The


scheme was officially launched on 24th
February, 2019.

₹6000 per year will be paid to each eligible


farmer in three instalments and will be
deposited directly to their bank accounts.

The scheme was first started by Telangana Government as the Rythu Bandhu
scheme.

In 2019, Narendra Modi launched the scheme in Uttar Pradesh, with the first
instalment as Rs. 2,000 each to over 1 crore farmers.

In May 2022, 11th instalment of Rs 21,000 crore released to more than 10 crore
farmers

Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme extended till FY26


Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) till
the financial year 2025-26 with the total outlay of Rs 13,554.42
crores.
Aim: to create sustainable employment opportunities for about 40
lakh persons in five years, by helping them to set up micro-
enterprises in non-farm sectors.
Launched 2008 by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
maximum project cost raised from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh for
manufacturing units and Rs 20 lakh for service units from the
current Rs 10 lakh.
Govt launches e-learning portal 'Dak Karmayogi' for Dak Sevaks &
employees
• Communications Minister, Ashwini Vaishnav and MoS
Communications Devusinh Chauhan have launched
‘Dak Karmayogi’, an e-learning portal.

• This portal is developed under the vision of ‘Mission


Karmayogi’.

• This portal will develop the competencies of about


four lakh Gramin Dak Sevaks and departmental
employees.
• After the completion of the final assessment, a system-
generated certificate will generate, and sent to the
trainee’s registered email ID automatically.

PM KUSUM Yojana
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Surakshaevam Utthaan Mahabhiyan Yojana or PM KUSUM Yojana was
launched on March 2019

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Surakshaevam Utthaan Mahabhiyan Yojana supports the farmers
financially to install solar irrigation pumps for cultivation. Farmers will get a 60% subsidy to set
up tubewells and pump sets individually.

It aims to promote solar energy and by 2022, it aims to produce


solar energy and other renewable energy with a capacity
of 25,750 MV.

ABPMJAY- SEHAT scheme

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Samba district of the Jammu
division has become the first district in India to cover 100% of households
under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (ABPMJAY)-
SEHAT scheme.

However, 100% family coverage for the Ayushman Bharat Golden card in the
district is a major achievement for the UT Government. This ambitious health
insurance scheme enables all the residents of J&K including employees and
pensioners as well as their families to avail of cashless quality healthcare
services across public and empanelled private hospitals across India.

The ABPMJAY SEHAT scheme is the world’s largest health insurance scheme
fully financed by Government and the people with Ayushman Bharat Golden
Card get free treatment up to Rs. 5 lakh in all government and empanelled
private hospitals across India.

Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) was launched on 23rd
September 2018. The salient features of AB-PMJAY are:

1. AB-PMJAY is the world’s largest Government funded health assurance scheme.

2. AB-PMJAY provides health assurance of up to Rs.5 Lakh per family per year for secondary
and tertiary healthcare hospitalizations.

3. AB-PMJAY is a completely cashless and paperless scheme.

4. The benefits under AB-PMJAY are portable across the country.

5. There is no cap on family size, or age or gender.

• The Immunization Programme in India was introduced in 1978 as ‘Expanded Programme
of Immunization (EPI) by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
• In 1985, the Programme was modified as ‘Universal Immunization Programme (UIP)’.
• WHO on 24th February 2012 removed India from the list of countries with active endemic
wild poliovirus transmission and in 2014, India was declared Polio free.

• The PMGKP was launched on March, 30, 2020 to provide
comprehensive personal accident cover of Rs. 50 Lakh to
22.
• 12 lakh healthcare providers, including community health workers and
private health workers dealing with COVID-19 patients and may be
at risk of being impacted by the same.
MoHUA launches NIPUN Project for promotion of skill training of Nirman
Workers
• Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Hardeep
Singh Puri has launched the initiative for skill training of
construction workers called ‘NIPUN’.
• NIPUN refers National Initiative for Promoting Upskilling of
Nirman workers.
• MoHUA has launched this initiative under its flagship
scheme of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National
Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM).

• Aim: To train over 1 lakh construction workers, through


fresh skilling and upskilling programmes.

• The virtual meeting was chaired by Manoj Joshi, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban

• At Present, the total number of sanctioned houses under PMAY(U) stand at 114.04 Lakhs, of
which around 25 Lakh have been grounded for construction and around 54.78 Lakh are
completed and delivered to the beneficiaries.
• The total investment under the Mission is INR 7.52 Lakh crore, with INR 1.87 Lakh Crore as
direct assistance from the Central Government. So far, Central Assistance amounting to INR
1.21 Lakh Crore has already been released.

• SVANidhi se Samriddhi is an additional program of PM-SVANidhi
which was launched on 4th January 2021 in 125 cities in Phase 1,
covering approximately 35 Lakh Street vendors and their families.
• MoHUA has been implementing Prime Minister Street Vendors
AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi), a Central Sector Scheme since
1st June 2020. The scheme aims to provide an affordable working
capital loan to Street Vendors and has successfully crossed the 30
Lakh mark.

scheme to continue till December 2024
• The approval was given by the Cabinet Committee on Economic
Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with a focus on
enhanced collateral-free affordable loan corpus, increased adoption
of digital transactions and holistic socio-economic development of
the Street Vendors and their families.
• According to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the
scheme had envisaged to facilitate loans for an amount of Rs
5,000 crore.
• Today’s approval has increased the loan amount to Rs 8,100 crore,
thereby providing the Street vendors working capital to further
expand their business and making them AtmaNirbhar
• launch of the Scheme in June 2020 i.e. the pandemic and related
stress on the small businesses

Stand-Up India Scheme completed 6 years


Stand-Up India scheme has completed its six years on 5th
April 2022. Under the Stand-Up India Scheme, over 30,160
crore rupees have been sanctioned to more than 1 lakh 33
thousand 995 accounts since the launch of the Scheme.

The scheme was launched by PM Modi on 5th April 2016.

Narendra Modi announced the initiative on April 8,
2015.

with the goal of granting loans up to ten lakh rupees


to non-corporate, non-farm small, or micro-
enterprises.

Women Entrepreneurs have received around 68


percent of the total number of loans approved.

New Entrepreneurs have received nearly 22 percent


of the loans.

PMJJBY, PMSBY and APY complete 7 years of providing social security

completed seven years of providing social
security net.

• The schemes were launched by PM Narendra


Modi on 9th May 2015 in Kolkata, West Bengal.

Prime Minister.
• In 2022, the Jal Shakti Abhiyan will be launched on 29th March,
2022.
• Another programme under the department is Atal Bhujal Yojana,
which is being implemented in select areas of 7 States wherein the
people prepare their water security plan detailing out how are they
getting water, amount of water being consumed, type of water
conservation method applied and how one can moderate its usage.
Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana is a food security welfare scheme announced
by the Government of India on March 26 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic in India.
The program is operated by the Department of Food and Public Distribution under the
Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launches 100 days reading campaign
‘Padhe Bharat’
• will focus on children studying in Balvatika to Grade 8. The
reading campaign will be organized for 100 days (14 weeks)
starting from January 1, 2022, to April 10, 2022.
• aims to have the participation of all stakeholders at the
national and state level including children, teachers, parents,
community, educational administrators etc.
• One activity per week per group has been designed with the
focus on making reading enjoyable and build a lifelong
association with the joy of reading.

• February 21 (International Mother Tongue


Day), has also been integrated with this
campaign.
• This day will be celebrated with the activity of
Kahani Padho Apni Bhasa Main (Reading story
in own language) across the country by
encouraging children to read in their mother
tongue/local language.

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan: Sub-Programmes

The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan or SSA was established in 2001 by the MHRD of the Government of
India, started by former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, or SSA, is an Indian government programme aimed at universalizing

• Fresh wage rates have been notified by the central
government under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural
Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) for the financial

The government of India has announced the Agnipath


scheme for the recruitment of the youth of India in
the Indian Armed Forces. Through this scheme, the
younger population of the country is encouraged to
take the military as a carrier with a high pay scale. The
Agnipath scheme allows the candidates to serve in
Indian Armed Forces for four years. The selected
candidates in the Agnipath scheme will be known as
Agniveers.

25% of the Agniveers will be selected for the


permanent commission for further 15 years based on
merit and Organisation needs. The rest will be
released from the armed forces with a good amount

10% of the vacancies are reserved for the recruitment in CAPFs and Assam Rifles for the
Agniveers, as per the announcement by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)

Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal tweeted on Tuesday, that the Haryana government
assures job opportunities for the Agniveers who will serve the nation for four years.

Revised MGNREGA Wages 2022-23

• Under sub-section (1) of Section 6 of the MGNREGA, 2005, the


Union government fixes state-wise wage rates for unskilled
manual workers, who work under the rural job guarantee
scheme.
• The MGNREGA wage rates are fixed according to changes in the
CPI-AL (Consumer Price Index-Agriculture Labour), which
reflects the increase in the inflation in rural areas.
• The revised rates came into effect from 1st April 2022
• Out of 34 Union Territories and states, 21 of them have
received hikes of less than 5 percent. A 5% hike has been
given to 10 states.
• Mizoram, Manipur, and Tripura have not been given any hikes.

• Goa has recorded the highest increase with a 7.14 percent increase to Rs 315 per day in 2022-23
from Rs 294 per day in 2021-22.
• Meghalaya has seen the lowest hike with a 1.77 percent increase to Rs 230 per day from Rs 226
per day.
• Highest MGNREGA wages
• Five UTs and states with the highest wages are Haryana with wages of Rs 331 per day, Goa with Rs
315, Kerala with Rs 311, Karnataka with Rs 309, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands with Rs 308.
• Lowest MGNREGA wages
• The five lowest UTs and states are Tripura with Rs 212, Bihar with Rs 210, Jharkhand with Rs 210,
Chhattisgarh with Rs 204, and Madhya Pradesh with Rs 204.

It is a scheme for improving the governance capabilities


of Panchayati Raj institutions

RGSA was approved by the Union Cabinet on 21.04.2018


for implementation from Financial Year 2018-19 to 2021-
22 (01.04.2018 to 31.03.2022).

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA)


approved its extension till 2025-26

RGSA enables Panchayats to function effectively to


achieve SDGs and other development objectives that
require significant Capacity building efforts.

Agnipath Scheme 2022

• for the recruitment of the youth of India in the Indian


Armed Forces.
• The Agnipath scheme allows the candidates to serve in
Indian Armed Forces for four years.
• The selected candidates in the Agnipath scheme will be
known as Agniveers. The age limit for the applicants will be
from 17 ½ years to 23 years. Both male and female
candidates can apply for the Agnipath scheme.
• 25% of the Agniveers will be selected for the permanent
commission for further 15 years based on merit and
Organisation needs. The rest will be released from the
armed forces with around 10 lakhs of Seva Nidhi.

UDAN celebrating its 5th anniversary in the year 2022


• Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (UDAN) - Ministry of Civil Aviation's flagship
program on Regional Connectivity
• In April 2017, the first flight from Shimla to Delhi under the UDAN
scheme was flagged off by PM Shri Narendra Modi
• The objective of UDAN scheme is to connect small and medium cities
with big cities through air service.
• Under the UDAN scheme, the airfare for a one-hour journey by a
'fixed wing aircraft' or half an hour's journey by a helicopter for about
500 km, has been fixed at Rs.2500/-.

• More than one crore passengers flown since the inception of the scheme
• There were 74 operational airports in 2014. Because of the UDAN scheme this number has
increased to 141 by now (as on Aug 2022).
• 425 New routes started under the scheme
• 58 airports, 8 heliports and 2 water aerodromes have been connected
• 1000 Routes and 220 airports are planned to be facilitated under the scheme by 2026
