    Introduction to Blood Glucose Level

    The glucose (sugar) level in a person's blood at any time is known as the

    blood glucose level. Blood sugar levels that are extremely high or low may be a

    sign of a medical disease that needs to be treated. Depending on how much glucose

    is in a person's system, their blood sugar levels can either be expected, high, or

    low. An essential sugar called glucose is constantly present in circulation. Blood

    glucose levels can be measured at any time, including when someone is fasting

    (first thing in the morning), before or after eating. Adults (without diabetes) should

    have less than 100 mg/dL of blood glucose when fasting for at least 8 hours.

    Adults (without diabetes) should have a blood glucose level from 90 to 110 mg/dL

    two hours after eating. Regardless of age, anyone without diabetes or hypertension

    should have a morning blood sugar level of less than 100 mg/dL.

    Here are the reasons to check blood sugar levels:

     Regular evaluation of the effectiveness of medical therapies in balancing

    therapy, dietary intake, and activity.

     Increasing one's sense of control.

     Connecting the patient's lifestyle choices to how they affect their blood

    sugar levels.

     Aggressively aiding in the short- and long-term prevention of diabetic

    problems.

     For scheduling modifications to medication dosages.

     Taking care of hypoglycemia and sick days.

    Objective

    A doctor could prescribe a blood sugar test to determine whether you have

    diabetes or prediabetes. The test will calculate your blood glucose level. Your body

    transforms the carbohydrates in meals like grains and fruits into glucose. One of

    the body's primary energy sources is sugar and glucose. A home test helps people

    with diabetes track their blood sugar levels. Finding your blood sugar level can

    help you decide whether to change your diet, engage in more activity, or take

    diabetic medicines. If untreated, low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) can cause

    seizures or a coma. Hyperglycemia, or high blood sugar, can cause diabetic

    ketoacidosis, a potentially fatal illness that frequently worries people with type 1

    diabetes. Long-term hyperglycemia can raise your chance of developing

    neuropathy (nerve damage) and heart, kidney, and eye conditions. glucose level.

    Materials & Methods

     A blood sample is needed.  

     Needle

     Cotton

     Alcohol

     Glucometer

    Some people report feeling significant discomfort when a needle is used to

    take blood during the test. The test may be performed after you have not eaten

    anything for at least 8 hours (fasting) and at any time of day (random). Others

    merely experience a sting or prick. There can be some pain or minor bruises after

    that. This quickly disappears. It would help if you swabbed the tip of your finger

    with cotton before and after inserting the needle. Then, take a drop of blood from

    the little incision you created and place it on the glucometer so it can measure your

    blood sugar level.

    Results

    After putting my blood sample on the glucometer, I got the result below:

    The whole class did the same procedure then we added all of them and

    divided it by the total number of students as shown:

    1618/19 =85.16 mg/dl

    Conclusion

    In conclusion, Blood sugar testing is essential if your doctor feels you may

    have diabetes. Diabetes patients must periodically get blood sugar testing to

    prevent long-term health issues and create a treatment plan. Blood sugar tests often

    aid in developing a diabetic action plan. As discussed above Blood glucose levels

    can be checked anytime, including first thing in the morning when someone is

    fasting, before or after eating. When fasting for at least 8 hours, adults (without

    diabetes) should have blood glucose levels less than 100 mg/dL. Two hours after a

    meal, adults (without diabetes) should have blood glucose levels between 90 and

    110 mg/dL.
