IIM Bodh Gaya MBA Admission Policy 2023
This document summarizes the approach of IIM Bodh Gaya to prepare the admission list for its
MBA Batch 2023-25. IIM Bodh Gaya reserves the right to modify any part of this document
including the various criteria and cut offs mentioned at any time till the actual admission process
for the batch is completed.
The basic objective of IIM Bodh Gaya’s admission process is to identify meritorious candidates
for admission under each category of admission, viz., General, EWS, NC-OBC, SC, ST, and
PwD. While merit is the primary consideration, the institute observes a skewed student structure
in favour male gender and engineering and related courses at bachelors. Hence, it strives to ensure
a better balance in opportunities among different subjects and genders. IIM Bodh Gaya duly
recognize academic merit consistency and experience.
Admission to the programme is open to Indian citizens only. The batch size is likely to be around
300.1
The admission process of IIM Bodh Gaya consists of:
• CAT Examination
• Short listing candidates for Personal Interview (PI) process.
• Conducting the PI process.
• Preparing the Merit List based on performance in CAT 2022, PI score and Profile score
as indicated in Section 3.

210 seats are Gender-Neutral. In case of optimal number of girls, in various reservations categories, are
there in the 210 Gender-Neutral Seats, then the next 90 seats will be Gender-Neutral. Otherwise, the next
90 seats will be offered as a combination of Gender-Neutral and Supernumerary Girls (SNG) seats. This
provision of supernumerary seats is to promote the healthy gender ratio in campus while keeping merit as
primary consideration.

IIM Bodh Gaya's Admission Committee will decide the number of candidates who would be
called for PI process on the basis of criteria prepared for each category. However, if the actual
number of short-listed candidates were found to be less (more) than the required number of
candidates to be called for PI category-wise, then the overall as well as section-wise minimum
score would be reduced (increased) to get the desired number of candidates.
The 9 IIMs (IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM
Sambalpur, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Trichy and IIM Udaipur) have decided to adopt a common
admission process (CAP 2023 process) of PI to be coordinated this year by IIM Udaipur. In
addition to the common process as mentioned, IIM Bodh Gaya may conduct supplementary
admission process (SAP 2023). The performance of the candidate in PI of CAP 2023 and SAP
2023 would be considered for preparing the merit list.
2. Academic Score and Work Experience Data
The academic scores/data and the work experience data will be taken from the CAP 2023 and
SAP 2023. Candidates are advised the fill the details in CAP/SAP carefully.
If at any later stage, it is observed that the candidates had submitted any forged data/document,
his/her admission will be cancelled without any refund.
3. Criteria for Preparing the Merit List
The candidates, who have scored more than or equal to the Minimum Performance Requirement
(MPR)^^ in the PI, will be considered for the final merit list. The candidate who has scored less
than the minimum performance requirement in PI will not be a part of the final merit list.
^^ Minimum Performance Requirement will be finalized at the time of Merit List preparation by
the Admission Committee of IIM Bodh Gaya at its discretion and based on the actual pool of the
candidates.
The criteria for preparing the final merit list will be as follows:
• CAT Score: 50%
• Personal Interview: 20%
• Profile: 30%
IIM Bodh Gaya will use CAT 2022 score (scaled score not the percentile)

6. Terms, Conditions and Other Information
Disclosure of information about the admission process is driven by concerns, which at times
conflict with each other. IIMBG would like the admission process to be transparent. At the same
time, IIMBG would wish to protect the privacy of the individual candidates and confidentiality
of the process to prevent abuse. Based on these considerations, the details of the performance of
an individual are not made available to any other person. Similarly, the details of the performance
of a candidate in PI, including assessment of attributes, is not disclosed to anyone to prevent
exercise of undue pressure on the panellists participating in the admission/selection process. To
ensure that the perceived lack of transparency does not in any way affect the candidates
negatively, adequate care is taken in formation of the interview panels, development of objective
criteria for assessment, random allocation of candidates to interview panels and other such
measures.
The summary of results, admission offers, and cut-offs will be updated from time to time on the
website. RTIs for the available information on the website (the individual composite scores and
the summary of the results) will be discouraged.
IIM Bodh Gaya does not allow deferment of an admission offer to the subsequent years.
Full Time Program: Considering it is two years full time program, the candidate must be relieved
from all active engagements by the firm/company he/she is associated prior. Moreover, he/she is
strictly forbidden to join any full-time engagements including full-time internships during all the
six academic trimester. The mandatory Summer Internship is excluded in the above description.
If the candidate is found to be engaged in any full-time activities, he/she shall be disqualified
from the program.
