EXPERIMENT NO. _______
I. OBJECTIVES
1. Upon completion of this experiment, students must be able to identify the uses and
function of the different laboratory equipment and devices used in the experiments.
II. DISCUSSION
BREADBOARD
It allows components to be readily inserted or removed. The possibility of heat
damage from soldering iron is eliminated so that components can be reused.
The main purpose of the breadboard is to allow easy solder less connection of
electronic components such as IC’s, resistors, LEDs and others, used in the experiments.
CONNECTING WIRES
They are used to provide continuity or connection between two or more parts of the
circuit.
POWER SUPPLY
Throughout the whole course, all experiments will use a +5v DC Power supply.
Almost all ICs require +5v DC Power for them to function. This is used to give voltage
supply to an electronic/electrical circuit.
V.O.M.
Volt-Ohm-MilliAmmeter (VOM) is very essential testing equipment. It is used to
measure power supply voltages AC and DC; resistor values as well as current values. It is
used to troubleshoot simple electrical circuits and used for testing open and short circuit
or so-called continuity testing.
