Executive Summary
We were asked to prepare a project on developing a business plan on the basis of a company.
For that reason, we have created a business plan named “Noodleous”. The name of our
company is “Shakya Noodles”. It will be a small scale sole trading business which will be
situated at Asan, Kathmandu. We will be producing varieties of noodles such as pasta,
macaroni, instant noodles, packaged noodles according to the local demand. These noodles
will be suitable for any ages of people but most probably appropriate for young people as well
as the adults. It will not be harmful for any ages of people.
The project began with a brief overview of our business plan, management team plan, our firm
description, defining the product and services of our plan, mission and vision of the firm
(Shakya Noodles), the business concept in detail, target market of our products. Then we have
tried to show the feasibility of our business through five role of feasibility analysis like product
feasibility analysis, Industry feasibility analysis, Market feasibility analysis, Organizational
feasibility analysis and financial feasibility analysis. We have also shown the core strategy of
our business in this project. SWOT analysis, competitors’ analysis, strengths and weakness
have also been covered in our project.

2. Management Team Plan


Prior to opening this small scale business, I have also worked in my uncle’s noodles shop
which buys noodles from the local manufacturer and then provides varieties of noodles items
in the menu such as spaghetti, chow Mein, laphing, chilly pasta and so on. While working
there, I have involved myself with numerous people who produce and supply the noodles to
the local markets. I plan to seek help from such people if I require any sort of advice when
running my business. My uncle is also an expert in this field as he has many dealings with the
local noodles manufacturer. So I can easily ask for advice from him.
Likewise, from my experience of about 3 years in working in my uncle’s noodles shop, I have
gained various practical knowledge and skills with the support of my uncle. So starting a small
scale business by myself will most likely not be a problem for me.

3. Company Description
Shakya Noodles is a small scale noodles manufacturing business. It will be a new business
started and operated solely by me and if I require any sort of assistance then I will hire some
manpower as well. It will be situated at Asan, Kathmandu. I chose this location because my
old house is located there and at present, no one lives there. So it is a perfect place for me to
open a small scale business.
My firm will be producing numerous varieties of noodles such as plain noodles, instant
noodles, pasta, egg noodles, macaroni and these products will be named “Noodleous”. After
production, these products will be supplied to the wholesalers as well as retailers through local
suppliers.

4. Product and Services


Increasing population, rapid economic development, growing purchasing potential are a few
major reasons for growing the noodles need in the urban area. It’s a ready-to-eat food item and
the shelf life is more. So, the working women and housewives both desire to use this food item
on regular basis.
My firm Shakya Noodles will be producing noodles named “Noodleous”. The main
ingredients in manufacturing these noodles will be wheat or flour (maida) and starch. In
addition, sugar, garlic, spices, common salt, ginger, etc. will also be used in our product to
increase the quality as well as the taste.

4.1 Product Uses


Despite being relatively low in some nutrients like fiber and protein, noodles contain several
micronutrients, including iron, manganese, folate and B vitamins. Some noodles are also
fortified with additional nutrients.
 Nutrition content: Basically, noodles are made up of salt, wheat flour and water. The
micro nutrients differ according to various brands of instant noodles. Withal, noodles
have low calories, protein, fiber, mineral and vitamins.
 Essential nutrients: Some noodles provide essential nutrients to the body. The nutrients
in noodles differ according to brands. Some brands include manganese and Vitamin B
complex such as thiamine and riboflavin. Literally the study shows that more than 6000
instant noodle consumers showed 31% and 16% greater intake of thiamine and
riboflavin respectively.
 Low carbs: Rice noodles offers 44 grams of carbs per cup. It has higher glycemic index
which means body breaks it down into sugar quickly.
 Full for longer: One bowl of noodles keeps on full for longer time period as it takes
time to get digested.

5. Vision and Mission


5.1 Mission of the firm
Shakya Noodles is in the business community to promote quality and healthy choices in the
community by offering benefits of quality noodles at reasonable price that is affordable by the
local customers. These noodles are delicious as well as provides nutritious benefits to the
consumers.
5.2 Vision of the firm
We seek to build a healthier community by giving the people with products like “Noodleous”
that are reasonable as well as nutritious to the consumers. Likewise, we also set our vision to
be the No. 1 noodles manufacturer in Kathmandu by offering varieties of noodles.

5.3 Company Values


Shakya Noodles will be mainly focusing on satisfying the needs of the local market. We will
operate on the basis principles of service to the customer above all else. Because we depend
on our customers for business, we must ensure that they enjoy every single products. As a food
product producer, we must capitalize on every opportunity to keep up with the changing trends
in the food industry by offering new and innovative products.

6. Industry Overview
Fast foods are the foods that can be prepared quickly and junk foods are the pre-prepared or
packaged food. These food do not take much time to cook and are also tasty, so they are quite
popular among the people of every age group. The industry of the junk foods is growing every
year. There are a number of junk food production companies in the industry and they are
growing in size with the growing popularity of the junk foods. Noodles are also one of the junk
food which is growing in its popularity and industry size every year. The noodles companies
are producing noodles in large variety and taste so that the consumer of the noodles never get
bored by the same taste every time. This has led to the increase of the noodles industry globally.
To promote nation’s economy, noodles industries were introduced. Noodles are one of the
most popular varieties of food that the people have been using since its production started a
decade ago. The consumption practice in Nepal is not very old. Before 2017 B.S. only those
people, who had gone out of the country, knew about noodle. Noodles were first introduced in
Nepalese industry after 2017 B.S. In 2032 B.S. National Trading Limited imported the
equipment and machines required to produce noodles in Nepal and the production of plain
noodles was started in 2032 B.S. after the establishment of Gandaki Noodles. Then the instant
noodles production was started.
Noodles are a very popular item in Nepal. The industry of instant noodles industry has grown
beyond the country’s border. It is one of the few items in Nepal which is exported from Nepal.
The industry of noodles has not only been rising in Nepal, it has been rising all over the world.
So, it has not been much of a problem for Nepalese noodles industry to penetrate and survive
in the new industries. Nepalese noodles are getting exported all over the world and it still has
the potential to grow. Nepalese noodles industry has the potential to turn into a multinational
company and operate all over the world like man of the existing multinational companies.
