How has the timber been utilised ? Architecture critique

Wood is massively used (structure, facade cladding), for its sustainable attribute and
its capacity to capture CO2. The outer layer of the building will ensure the control of
the ambient climate inside the building for the well-being of the patients.

Re-use strategy for any unused materials

Recycled timber is essentially any wood which would have gone to landfill, but has instead been
salvaged for re-sale and re-use. This wood could come from places like warehouses, retired ships,
wine barrels, coal mines and construction sites – the possibilities are endless.

What are the architectural features you want to work with

Wooden construction has been around for millennia and continues to remain popular and relevant
even today. Architects are looking at the material for its durability, versatility and potential for reuse.
Designers are bringing traditional construction knowledge to create projects that can employ local
communities and keep cultural knowledge alive. In my project, I would like to probe more into the
construction process of wood and test more possibilities of wood joint and how these wood joints
can be used in construction detail or decorations.

How and where are you applying your defined principles

I would like to apply these wood assenable details to my design. In my PPS design, I will introduce
the wood joint detail as a key elements in the form design and the mainly form will shaped by the
timber structure.
