That fall code is for neutral position fault. However there is no troubleshooting guide for the neutral
fault in the manuals. You will need to use this forward one.

Forward Propel

System Operation Description:

Note: When performing this procedure, the potentiometer for variable speed control needs to be
turned fully clockwise. On machines equipped with this feature, this dial is on the instrument panel.

Test Step 1. DETERMINE THE PROBLEM.

The forward propel function can fail in two ways. The machine may be stuck in forward propel or
the machine may not travel forward.

Results:

STUCK IN FORWARD - The machine is stuck in the forward mode. Proceed to Test Step 2.

NO FORWARD TRAVEL - The machine will not travel forward. Proceed to Test Step 5.
Test Step 2. CHECK THE JOYSTICK POSITION SENSOR.

At the back of the harness connector for the sensor, insert the probe of the 7X-1710 Multimeter
Probe along the signal wire (contact 3).

At the back of the harness connector for the sensor, insert the other 7X-1710 Multimeter Probe
along the ground wire (contact 2).

Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.

Monitor the signal of the sensor with the(###) ###-####Digital Multimeter .

Move the joystick to the NEUTRAL position. Check the signal. The signal should be operating at a
50% duty cycle.

Move the joystick slowly forward. Check the signal.

Expected Result:

The value for the duty cycle starts at 50% in the center position and then the signal rises above
50% as the joystick is moved forward.

Results:

OK - The value for the duty cycle starts at 50% in the center position and then the signal rises
1
above 50% as the joystick is moved forward. The joystick position sensor is operating normally.
Welcome! How can I help with your construction equipment question?
Proceed to Test Step 3.

https://www.justanswer.com/construction-and-road-equipment/bsyl2-similar-problem-right-cb534d-not-moving.html 2/19
‫ م‬6:09 2023/‫‏‬2/‫‏‬25 I have a similar problem right now with a cb534d not moving front or back. Have done the handle calibration with

NOT OK - The value for the duty cycle starts above 50% in the center position and then the signal
remains above 50% as the joystick is moved forward. The signal from the jostick is incorrect.
Repair: Re-check the operation of the joystick and replace the joystick if the problem remains.

Stop.

Test Step 3. CHECK THE CIRCUIT FROM THE ECM TO THE FORWARD PROPEL SOLENOID.

Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.

At the ECM connector, remove the K725-GN wire from socket 35.

Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the ON position.

Start the machine to check for forward movement. Then, turn off the engine.
Expected Result:

The machine will not move forward.

Results:

OK - The machine does not move forward.

Repair: The machine does not move after the wire is removed from the ECM. The ECM may be
incorrectly sending a signal to the solenoid. The ECM may have failed. Exit this procedure and
perform this entire procedure again. If the problem with the ECM remains, replace the ECM. See
Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM ) - Replace".

Stop.

NOT OK - The machine moves forward. The circuit from the ECM to the solenoid may be shorted
to +battery. Proceed to Test Step 4
Test Step 4. CHECK THE SOLENOID CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO +BATTERY.

The key start switch and the disconnect remain in the ON position.

At the wire that was removed from the ECM connector (K725-GN), measure the voltage from the
wire to frame ground.
Expected Result:

No voltage is present.

Results:

OK - No voltage is present.
Repair: No voltage is present but the machine still travels forward when the engine is started. The
solenoid may have failed. Replace the solenoid and resume normal machine operation. If a new
solenoid does not solve the problem, check the pump. 1

Repair: The wiring harness has failed. Repair the wiring harness or replace the wiring harness.

Stop.

Test Step 5. CHECK THE BRAKES.

Place the propel lever in the neutral position.

Release the parking brake switch.

Expected Result:

The lamp for the brakes turns OFF.

Results:

YES - The lamp for the brakes turns OFF. The machine still does not move forward. Proceed to
Test Step 6.

NO - The lamp for the brakes remains ON.

Repair: Troubleshoot the brake system. The brake system includes the following components:
neutral start relay number 1, neutral start relay number 2, brake release latching relay, brake
release relay and brake release solenoid. See the schematic at the beginning of this procedure.

Stop.

Test Step 6. CHECK THE BRAKE SOLENOID.

The disconnect and the key start switch remain in the ON position.

Ensure that the brake switch is in the OFF position.

At the brake release solenoid, measure the voltage from contact 1 to contact 2.
Expected Result:

The voltage is approximately 12 DCV.

Results:

OK - The voltage is approximately 12 DCV. Proceed to Test Step 7.

NOT OK - The voltage is less than 12 DCV. There is a problem with the brake system.
Repair: Troubleshoot the brake system. The brake system includes the following components:
brake switch, neutral start relay number 1, neutral start relay number 2, brake release latching
relay, brake release relay and brake release solenoid. See the schematic at the beginning of this
procedure.

Secondary and parking brake features* Spring-applied/hydraulically released brake on front

and rear drums. Actuated by switch on console or automatically when pressure is lost in brake
circuit or when engine is shut off. A manual release pump is included. * All machines sold within
European Union are equipped with a brake release pump which allows the manual release of
the secondary brake system for towing the machine.

Dan solved problem the issue was on a silly Billy bolt that almost makes contact to a sensor on
neutral. Moved it a bit closer and it worked. Thanks any ways for all your help.

Customer reply

Hi Dan so I got some updates. The machine was able to load on the lowboy. But I notice a few
times in which the machine was moving forward or backwards and as soon as I started to play
with the potentiometer and the switch beside it the machine showed the error again 52. I just turn
the machine off then back on and started working fine again. This was until we tried to load it,
when the front roller hit the lowboy ramp and the machine didn't have the enough push or power to
over pass the small ramp, the machine stopped again and needed to be reset (turn off and on) so
it could start moving again. Next time I took some distance and speed so the roller could go over
the ramp with enough momentum. So the main question is why do you think it comes a time in
which the machine lacks of power for any reason may be a bump on the way or the lowboy ramp
and not been able to pass over it the machine protects it self won't move back or fwd with code 52
flashing until its reset. Any help its gladly appreciated

If it was still trying to travel up the ramps but you had no power in the engine rpm's remained
consistent than it sounds more like either a hydraulic pump or drive motor problem or the circuit
going over relief prematurely. I would take a look in your hydraulic filter for fine metal debris that
would look like glitter in the oil and filter which would indicate a pump or component failure. Also if
you can prevent movement you can disconnect the case drain hose from the drive motor and put
a hydraulic plug on the hose then run a hose from the case drain into an empty bucket. Slowly
engaged drive with travel prevented and monitor the case drain as it should come out in low-
volume. If it comes out under high pressure or volume your drive motor is bad. I'll check and see if
I can find anything else about a self protection function but off the top of my head I'm not aware of
one.
