Strength Translucency

DIN EN ISO 13356

A higher sintering temperature generates grain growth and increases translucency.

Grain growth reduces strength and increases translucency.

Higher grain growth leads to larger grain boundaries. Hydrothermal aging increases in speed and both the strength
and the life span of the material descrease.

Zirconium oxide is a poor heat conductor. Transport of energy to and from the material takes time. (Decrease the
heating rate for large constructions).

Slow cooling can improve translucency and counteracts tension in the material.

Indication guide.

Using the correct zirconium oxide and its indication often depends on many factors. The Nacera® indication guide will help you
select the best solution for the case in hand. Results will be long-lasting and aesthetic if the preparation shade, the material
properties and the indication are well coordinated.

Nacera® Pearl Q3 Multi-Shade NEW

A-Light

A1

A2

Nacera® Pearl Q3 Multi-Shade redefines the accuracy of color and fit of CAD / CAM restoration materials.

The multi-shaded Nacera® Pearl Multi-Shade system has been extended by the 6 mol % yttrium-stabilized Q3 zirconium
oxide series and features not only ultra-high translucency, but also light dynamics and color rendering that exactly match the
V-shade system. The special chemical composition with the development of a tetragonal-cubic phase is partially responsible for
the photo-optical properties of the new high performance ceramics. The optimized light refraction and the resulting improved
light dispersion make every crown an aesthetic success!

The new tetragonal-cubic 6Y-PSZ high-performance ceramics from the multi-shade family has been developed with a special
color mix and measuring method that now for the first time takes into account the brightness value and chroma in a zirconium
oxide system, enabling a very homogeneous color particle distribution in the material. At the same time the very fine flowing
color gradations from the cervical area to the incisal edge of the restoration are true-to-life – whether they are fully anatomical
or anatomically reduced.

With a bending strength of 700 + / - 120 MPa Nacera® Pearl Q3 Multi-Shade is suitable for the production not only of
monolithic individual restorations but also highly aesthetic three component bridges with long-term stability.

14
Nacera® Pearl Q3
Ultra-highly translucent – multi-layered.

So what is behind it all: Based on the last zirconium oxide generation, Nacera experts have developed Pearl Q3. The 6Y-PSZ
zirconium oxide has a cubic phase which significantly reduces double refraction compared to other yttrium-stabilized zirconium
oxides on the market. Light transmission and thus translucency are thereby significantly increased.

100 % TETRAGONAL 60 % CUBIC | 40 % TETRAGONAL

LIGHT

LIGHT

DOUBLE REFRACTION DISPERSION SINGLE REFRACTION

Double refraction is a physical property of optical materials that have two refraction indexes. Light is also refracted in different
ways in different polarization levels. In the processed polycrystalline zirconium oxide this causes greater dispersion and therefore
opacity. This could be significantly reduced in the 6Y-PSZ Pearl Q3 material.

15
Nacera® Pearl Q3 Multi-Shade 6Y-PSZ 51 %
translucency

Nacera® Pearl Q3 Multi-Shade is a polychromatic, ultra-highly translucent zirconium oxide with a fine, progressive color
gradient and a perfect match of classic V-shades.

We apply a new color blending method, taking for the first time into account the color-dependent brightness value and chroma
in a zirconium oxide system. The shade match and natural appearance allows you to be most effective. Save time while finishing
only with glaze (ceraMotion® Zr Paste Glaze) or add more individual character with ceraMotion® One Touch.

Advantages & indications

✓ Revolutionary, perfect V-shades and realistic, soft color gradients.

✓ Produce monolithic crowns, bridges up to 3 elements and veneers, inlays and onlays.
✓ Finish with one firing, e.g. with ceraMotion® One Touch.
✓ Economic system to achieve the most popular shades.

Nacera® Pearl Multi-Shade 3Y-TZP 44 %
translucency

We have extended the range of our high-strength 3Y-TZP material, the highly translucent Nacera® Pearl, with two additional
multi-layered variations. After sintering, Nacera® Pearl Multi-Shade zirconium oxide shows the fine, flowing gradations of
the natural shade transition in the tooth. This gives a natural, authentic character to the construction, be it fully-anatomical or
reduced. The Multi-Shade milling blanks are available in the shades A, B, C and D, each Light and Dark, to achieve the most
common tooth colors. Their application is quite simple: Depending on the height positioning of the crown, for example, the
colors A1 or A2 can be achieved in an A-Light blank from bottom to top. The same is true for the other shades.

You therefore have a multi-layered system which is efficient and cost-effective and which needs only eight different blanks to
achieve almost every VITA color.

Advantages & indications

✓ Highly translucent multi-layered system.

✓ Natural and smooth shade transitions from cervical to incisal.
✓ Quick and economical for natural-looking monolithic restorations.
✓ Flexural strength 1200 MPa (4 point)
✓ Excellent machinability without fracturing or chipping – burs last up to 15% longer.

Nacera® Blue X Translucent Liquid

Translucency straight from the bottle!

Nacera® Blue X, applied on Nacera® Pearl 3Y-TZP zirconium oxide, exceeds the properties of lithium disilicate by allowing
technicians to apply the right amount of translucency only where desired. The phase transition of the structure increases the
translucency on Nacera® Pearl Multi-Shade and Shaded 16+2 by up to 8 %.

A further advantage lies in the strength that remains unchanged. Nacera ® Pearl Zirconia treated with Blue X still has a
bending strength of 1200 MPa (4 point bending strength). This is almost double that of cubic zirconia, and up to the three-fold
value for lithium disilicate.

✓ Flexible. Cusp tips and incisal edges – use where desired on pre-shaded 3Y-TZP zirconium oxide.
✓ Efficient. Anterior aesthetics that cost less – no additional ultra highly-translucent blanks necessary.
✓ Safe. No loss in strength when translucency is increased.
✓ Innovative. Apply translucency and color transition in one stroke.

Nacera® Clean cleaning powder

Nacera® Clean is a cleaning powder for the combustion chamber of the sintering furnace. Deposits from coloring liquids
appearing in the chamber during the sintering process settle on the insulation of the chamber walls. Aging heating elements also
release oxides which lead to discolorations. The reactive Nacera® Clean takes these impurities from the furnace atmosphere,
absorbs them and cleans the chamber with a lasting effect. Regular use provides translucent, color-consistent sintering results.
An excessive build-up of deposits on the insulation elements and in the chamber are avoided.

✓ No more yellow or green discoloration of the sintered objects.

✓ Full translucency is achieved.
✓ No particles on the zirconium oxide surface.
✓ Cleans the chamber and removes all contaminations.
✓ Produces reliable, clean sintering results.

For basic cleaning, we recommend the Starter Kit

which contains 200 g.
To keep the sintering furnace clean, use the
maintenance packages with 30 g.

Nacera® Calibrate

Precise temperature control for perfect sintering results. Nacera® Calibrate is a user-friendly calibration set for your
sintering and firing furnaces. The set contains a dial gauge, calibrated reference rings and ceramic measuring rings.

Since the ceramic rings shrink proportionally to the input thermal energy during the sintering or firing process, a dial gauge
can be subsequently used to hold the furnace temperature. If deviations from the required or programmed temperature are
detected, the sintering or firing furnace can be readjusted accordingly. Nacera® Calibrate controls the correct sintering and
firing temperature for perfect translucency and strength. What is most important, however, is the reproducibility of perfect
ceramic results each time – for constant, durable and highly aesthetic shade results.

✓ Measure and set the correct temperature for your furnace.

✓ Correct sintering for best results.
✓ Be certain to get best strength and translucency.
✓ Use Nacera® Calibrate to check and verify correct sintering processes –

Nacera® Shine zirconium oxide polishing paste

The Nacera® Shine Zr diamond polishing paste delivers a lasting, premium glaze on zirconium oxide in no time at all. The light
grey paste is not only effective and time-saving, but also easy to use and efficient.

Whether you are polishing with standard goat hair brushes or high-gloss polishing with cotton or leather buffing wheels: the
new polish is as abrasive as it needs to be and as gentle as it can be. Its hard consistency and a special wax / acid mixture that
acts as a binding and adhesive agent ensure that the polishing tool only takes as much polish as is required for each process.
This avoids any spraying or smearing of excess material, allowing zirconium oxide to be processed cleanly and efficiently, with
a more economical use of the high-quality diamond paste.

✓ High gloss finish on zirconium restorations in 90 seconds!

✓ Lasting, high-quality luster on zirconium oxide.
✓ Very high diamond content and an exceptionally hard consistency –
for less work and lower costs.
